Question BMW X5 xDrive50i

Hello! New here, new to BMW's. I just purchased the vehicle in the title and had a question I was hoping you could help me with. I want to be able to lower the vehicle 3"-5" for getting in and out of (mobility problems), but be able to raise it back up for driving...all while not voiding the warranty. Is this even possible. I've read a lot about EV3 and H&R on other threads on this site, but wasn't sure if they would do what I was wanting. I appreciate any suggestions and help!

Sounds like you would have to put air bags in to be able to lower and raise it. I would think this would void at least some of the warranty.

Like Russmov said, airbags are the only solution for 3-5 inch lowering, but it would void the warranties linked to suspension (such as linkages, bushings, joints, axles, control arms, steering etc.); however, if you have mobility problems, you can try to contact BMW America and talk to them to see if they can offer you any solution. I know for a fact that the big three manufacturers in Germany (MB, BMW, Audi) are offering solutions to people with certain issues and disabilities, albeit not very cheap.

The 2019 X5 has an option to have adjustable suspension to change the ride height. What year is your x50i?

I'm not sure if the difference between the F15 and G05 generations is anything more than a facelift... So it may actually be feasible if it can be added and then coded to your car. The biggest blocker I can see is really the retrofit cost.

H&Rs way to go... Great ride and not
too low but remember your wheels are going to look sucked in. Spacers ( if on stock wheels) help to clean up stance.

Agree. Thinking it might be cost prohibitive as well.

The G05 is a completely new platform, built on the Cluster Architecture (CLAR). Completely different vehicle, including suspension.

Good to know! @Gypsy Rose - Your options may be more limited after all.

Hi Gypsy-

You need an Airlift 3P kit for something aggressive like that. Look to the air ride installers shop to cover warranty and suspension issues as majority of the suspension will be swapped out.
