X6M, and where to begin!?

So texhnically i bought a second toy for me, I just let my wife call it hers.

It's a 2014 low mile x6 m and this thing needs to get to about 750hp at the rear to make me happy.

I come from diesel performance world and have a big twin turbo 10klb+ dually that will out run this x6 M on a roll and does 0-60 in 3.2 and it'll always be my passion, but I feel this thing has a lot more potential than what BMW made "factory".

I literally know squat about BMWs, but a quick learner with time to wrench and looking for the absolutely must haves and to dos to get this thing rolling!

Ultimate goal is high 10 low 11!

750rwhp is doable, but get ready to do it right and spend high 20’s.

What sort of engine monitoring options are there?

What's the rod and crank limitations aswell as boost pressure?

I know it's Apple's to oranges, but I run 80psi+ with arp 625 head studs in my truck and it'd be nice to at least know the stg 2 turbos aren't operating at the brink of floating a head.

Although I believe they all share the same engine S63B44. The current model is 2015+ and I am sure there are almost identical but might be wise as well ask for feedback in the E70/E71/E72 forum (http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=94)

I know there are tons of these tuned and super fast. I believe it was also suggested but I would reach out to DME Tuning.

Cheers!

No reports from anyone hurting the short block at your goals. Personally, I would up the turbo size and keep the boost under 22 due to DME mapping complexity. You’ll still meet your goals in a safer way.

DAQ is where you will be majorly disappointed. If you use Burger jb4 for boost Control, you can use their DAQ. I would not at your power goals since complete reflashes as now available. But that limits you to DashCommand, and it”s subpar.

You were right. X6/X5 were launch in 2014 but the M did not come until 2015 (board description is unclear about that). There is plenty of folks here with knowledge I just wanted to make sure you won't be missing on information. Please post pics and results once you advance through it.

I'll drop these here for reference, and some compound turbo porn from the black dually truck that's at a conservativly tuned rear wheel 1400hp running big compound turbos!

Congrats on the purchase. I had a 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins and it was one of the best vehicles I ever owned. Bought it new and served me exceptionally well for the decade I owned it. Literally never had a single issues with it. Try that owning a BMW...

Mind elaborating a bit! Also what's the whole E and F reference numbers with these things?

Very nice! Most people highly underestimate the ability of the diesel trucks, but I can honestly say I personally know more guys running 8 sec 1/4 miles in a 6klb truck than I do in 4k gassers. The power is unbelievable and 2k horsepower these days is what's needed to stay competitive on the drag.

Reliability is consistent as long as you understand how to treat a diesel.... and unlike gas motors, they Looooooove to be run hard and beat on!

Speaking of repairs!.......

What are some things to immediately address? Known factory flaws ext..

I actually bought an extended 3yr/42k mile top to bottom unrestricted warranty simce I frankly just jump on this one knowing used ones don't pop up often.

This unit was a leased vehicle that had all standard main documented via BMW systems and the condition looks basically new in and out..... even had new run flats on them which was bonus!

Also on the M exhaust, is it just a sound benefit to swap? Should I keep the M, or is it a major power contributor especially factoring in new turbos... likely stg 2.
