Yes, also very good at staying hidden from radar detector detectors.

Laser jammers will land you a much bigger fine than a detector. And OP isn't in VA. And I already said they're illegal hence why mine is hidden.

My experience with laser is that most all detectors are good at detecting laser. The problem is that in most cases with a good operator it is too late. Detect microwaves and jam laser is the best choice. You can jam both but my understanding is that jamming microwaves is an FCC violation and jamming laser is not. Big difference. Note: I said it is my understanding so I am cool with being wrong.

Is uniden R3 good at detecting laser?
Sure, but Once you detect laser it's usually too late anyway. If you want to change this you need a jammer

^exactly. would you rather have software that prevents a virus on your device or one that simply notifies you of the virus? same thing here, i would rather the laser not be able to read than have a device tell me i am being read.

Agree with others, but go for a defense-in-depth approach. Laser jammer AND a detector. Best to know its being jammed and notified.

I'm pretty sure that if the cop can't get a solid reading on you and you fly by at an excessive rate of speed, they are gonna figure out a way to get you. They have experience just standing on the side of the road to know when someone is doing excessive speeds.

Also keep in mind that you can't outrun RF (ie a radio call).
