Thanks to the help of those that responded to my thread earlier this week regarding leasing assistance I was able to strike a great deal on a new beast! I ended up buying instead of leasing this time as we traded in my wife's 2016 Cadillac Escalade...I was planning on trading my GLS 63 in for the beast but kept it so now we have 2 bad ass Beasts!

This is the Black Fire (AU) or Black Sapphire (US) individual edition.
My new car is very similar to this, in that its Black Sapphire and Mugello Red. In many ways, it makes sense to go for the Black Fire as it is limited and unique. However I just couldnt get a deal on this unique model, vs a regular Black/Red spec. Also, I just love the CF trim which I could t spec with this limited model. The two tone red/Black looks amazing - congrats again. Last edited by elisiX; 01-27-2018 at 01:19 AM.. |

Thanks everybody! Love the two tone interior it really is unique. With rebates we got $13500 off of sticker price which was fair to me and they gave us exactly what I expected on the Escalade so it worked out! The only issue I have is that now I really want the M760 that was there...frozen white with red interior. Contemplating trading in my M5 for it hahaha

Prob not going to mod the X5(ya right)! The wife wants wheels but judging by her past relationships with curbs I don't think that's going to happen..I normally do some cosmetic mods to all my cars so I'm sure the standard grills and tint will happen soon, reflector delete, etc..
Here's what's in the garage currrently.. |

welcome to the fold. i hope you enjoy the vehicle and your time here. when you have a few hundred miles and several hours of seat time under your belt i would love to read a comparo of the two vehicles. it is next on my list and is up against the new RRSC.

Immediate differences between the X5m and gls 63-
X5m feels light, agile, athletic. Gls feels like a solid heavy missile. The X5 jumps with the touch of your right foot, the GLS is more of a lunge with a deep throaty exhaust note reminiscent of an older muscle car. The Gls is bigger and heavier and you can def feel it-not better or worse just bigger. There is 1 major issue with the Gls that I have been experiencing is tracking on rough surfaces. I'm no stranger to this, however the merc is pretty unstable at highway speeds and gets worse as tires wear. I switched over it my winter setup and the problem is not as noticeable but def still there. I've takin it to the dealer a few times for this, they claim Mercedes is very aware but call it a normal characteristics a sport suv with the live stability control..i know of 2 owners of Gls 63's who have traded in with less than 5k on the odometer. I am planning on trading out of my gls soon or just selling outright and not replacing it..don't really need it at this point. I'll report more as I drive the X5 more of my wife lets me haha! She's in love with it!! |
