Dirty door jamb?

Any one else have a major issue with dirty door jambs? Even worse, when I get out of the car, the back of my pants around the calf area tend to rub up against the dirty part of the door jamb, leaving my pants dirty.

The door jambs get incredibly filthy. I'm honestly shocked that road salt/cinders get in there. I've never had a car that the jambs get this dirty.

Being 5'10", i can't get out without brushing my leg against the jamb without leaping out of the car.

It's incredibly frustrating, just wondering if others have found the same to be true?

SAME problem on my 2007 X5, 2008 X5, 2011 X5, 2017 X5 40e and now my 35d!

Every time I get out of my X5, my calf rubs against the door jamb! I am 5'8. It has gotten to the point, where I literally cannot wear light jeans or trousers.

This and the crappy & poor automatic Climate Control are my two biggest HATES with the X5. Most other things are good, if not excellent!

My ‘15 X5 had the running boards which is like 1”-2” further extended to outsides and it’s stronger enough for you to put weights on them. The running boards don’t always look good but I can step on them to get in or out of the car in snowy or messy situations. This helps keep my pants clean.

They also help reduce mud or dirt to get into the bottom of doors.

My ‘18 X5 is without the running boards setup. The hard-plastic jambs are like the narrow running boards but you cannot put too much weights or really step on top of them safely. I have to always remember step out further when exiting. Very annoying.

Maybe try adding additional weather stripping to the door jam?

Planning to play around with some weather stripping towards the bottom of the door.
