Laser Shifters

I recently purchased some shifters for the rig but they make a big deal about installing parallel to the road and equidistant from the center and headlights. The only place that works is the middle grille portion, but if you nudge the shifters into the corners there's really no way to get them perfectly parallel and aligned with the road.

What have you guys come up with?

That's one smart 3 year old... What brand are they? I've been thinking about installing jammers myself but have yet to decide on which brand.

Laser Jammers, sometimes called shifters as I assume the return signal the laser detector gets is "shifted", making the gun read no speed or slower speed and giving you a few valuable seconds to slow down. Been thinking about installing some too. Pricey buggers though.

I picked up the Escort ZW5's. They were on a great sale, $600 down from $850. I would have gone to ALP but wanted to stay with in the brand and they communicate wireless with my Escort Max 360C.

I don't know how effective they are but the wireless option was attractive as I can easily take them out of the car. The install was a breeze, took about 10 minutes but I can't figure out how to mount the damn laser modules. 🤷*♂️

Thank you for the explanation, I guess the vazha is too smart to maturely deal with my comment. Any radar detector up here or at least in Quebec is illegal so my interest/knowledge about terms or what not is close to zero.

As for the jammers in Quebec, unlike Radar detectors, they are completely legal as there are no laws against them. With that being said, If I lived there I would plan ahead get the stinger laser jammers as they are so stealthy it is near impossible to detect one that is properly installed, just in case the laws change in the future.

I was going to just dremel our the grill so they slide in and stay fixed. It's a $50 part. Can just buy new if I decide to keep the set up after sale..

Good installer and double sided tape. Also think the AL Priority shifters are a bit smaller than the escort ones.

Nice.. My bff is 3D printing some custom brackets I can 3M to. I want them on the very edge of the air gap, and it's uneven so I have to rig it.

Have your bff post the 3D model to Thingiverse or similar so we all can benefit!

Absolutely!!

Will post here and wherever else you want. 👍

Once I get them I'll do a fitting. I'm sure it'll need to be sanded/countered to be perfect but once I dial it in, I will absolutely post.

Hey!

Sorry, you just reminded me.

Where do you want the file uploaded?

Can my bud email me the file? I'm happy to send it to anyone who wants.

It came out great btw. I still needed to do a bit of sanding, but it was just to get it perfectly dialed in. Now they sit as they should. Sorry for the crappy photos, too lazy to back the car out to get the whole thing. 🤪

That takes care of front, how about rear? I got hit on I-75 in Ga Thursday for 88 in a 70, pretty sure it was from rear.
