USMillworks tow hook license plate install w/o triggering parking sensors
Guys
New F85 owner here. Unfortunately in VA we have to run a front license plate and I ordered myself one for USMillworks. I had one that worked well with my previous F80 w/ no problems. Can't seem to get it to work on the F85 and would appreciate any pointers from the community. It only seems to trigger when I stop, so I'm thinking that the little bit of play or wiggle room between the quick release bracket and tow hook mount may be the culprit. I've tried mounting the quick release bracket in the top right (if facing the license plate) corner and also one column over to no success. Any help would be appreciated. |

Last I checked the USM plate holder did not work with sensors - have they changed that? Thats the reason why I chose not to put a plate on the front.

I was in the same situation. Couldn't get that plate working 100% with sensors. The best position i could find was to attach the plate holder to bumper hook using holes 3 and 4 from the edge of plate holder. Once attached to a car, rotating a plate 15-20 degrees clockwise from horizontal line.
Still would trigger a PDC 10% of a time. I would just turn off audio signal with a button. Awkward solution, but got used to it. |

Thanks guys. I'll keep playing with it and report back to everyone. Ericliuhc may have gotten it right or maybe the F86 bumper is a bit different.
Mine only goes off about 10% of the time as well, but its at the worst times, like when I'm trying to parallel park and the dang thing is going off. |

Guys
I got it! It was less about the configuration of the plate holder as I tried a lot of different bracket locations, angles, etc. At least for me, once I turned off the “auto pdc” feature the false alarms went away. Of course, my initial install did not trigger the sensors, only when I came to a stop. Hope this helps! |
