As for owning an unethical instrument cluster, I dont like it but neither can I control that. Thank god for insurance.
Yes, it will work on your 2014 x5 f15 50i (doesn't matter the engine 35i or 50i). BMW has unified parts compatibility. That cluster is same for some other models too like f01, f02, f07, f10, f11, f25.

You won't have to virginize eeprom (to erase old VIN), it's already done for you. You'll just have to code it via ESYS to work and that's it.

I can't believe 6WB can be had for $950! Very nice price!

P.S From my experience (got couple things ordered from Russia on ebay) it takes 2-3 weeks, so a bit patience is needed.

Yeah looking like mid-August but I'll take it for the great price and "like new" condition, he said he will precode with my vin but I assume I'll still need to do something after doing the actual install...

You'll need to code 6WB - the guy who recode my 6WA (the one that I bricked during coding with Carly adapter) did it in like 10 min. He said it's very easy process. Yours will be even easier as he won't have to deal with fixing bricked unit. We agreed on $75, after the job was done he said he can charge only $25 (just because it took 10 min only), but I insisted to pay $75. He sent Paypal invoice after the job was done. The guy is very honest guy and very professional. I posted his contacts on different thread. His name is Steven Ma, he is a sponsor of our forum, many know him. http://www.codemybimmer.ca https://www.facebook.com/codemybimmerTO/
I'll refrain from posting his phone numbers, but you can contact him via email or phone. If you go to his contact us page - you can fill a quick online form and he will contact you with details and everything you need.

P.S. Since it's a quick coding via Esys procedure - you don't even have to have a battery charger or anything, just enet cable and laptop with wi-fi.
Any enet cable will do, I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The process looks like this: you install TeamViewer, he takes control remotely and installs Esys on your laptop and then he codes the car. You can also ask him to code anything else you need while at it. Bonus is that now I have latest Esys properly installed on my laptop and I can use it, but I'm not savvy at it yet.

Awesome and thank you! More to come as I tackle this mod...

Hello, I just saw that after 6wb retrofit for my f15, head up and instrument cluster do not show me navi tips. Of course, I have enabled these options in idrive. Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason? maybe something is wrongly coded? I have enet and esys cable.

Hi,

With 6WB display, still no HUD turn indicators.

I was considering updating my 2016/17 F26 X4 35d 6WA to 6WB but I love the turn arrows in the HUD.

As someone already stated, you tend to look at the HUD info more than the KOMBI display.

Really appreciate if someone can comment as I have the car booked in to upgrade to 6WB.

I'd honestly sacrifice the glitz and glam of the 6WB for 6WA, because at least I can have turn signals in the HUD. (6WB prohibits this, unfortunately.)

Not sure what are you asking? You can't have turn arrows in the HUD with 6WB as far as I know.

Hi,

Thanks, you've just answered my question.

If I can't have turn indicators/arrows in HUD upgrading to 6WB, I'll stay with my 6WA.
