smallest wheel size that fits the X5M?

Thinking ahead for winter! what is the smallest wheel size that fits? i had 18s on my 35D but thinking the M brakes are a lot larger. Smaller the better in the snow! No way i'm running 21" snow tires. lol.

You'll find a lot of people still running 21s.

But, if you want to go smaller, stay at 20s. No reason to go tiny.

Cool i will probably do 19s then. we get huge snow out here in NE Ohio! the more sidewall the better. Not a big fan of huge wheels on SUVs anyways.

The question is how are the 21s with snow tires on the Snow of 5 inches deep?

19” will not fit an x5m due to brake caliper size. 20” is the smallest you can go.

Maybe those OEM F15/custom kits had a special design making it possible to clear the calipers. Otherwise, the minimum is 20".

Others have chime in that the winter kit 298M from the earlier generation in 19" (E70M) didn't clear the calipers.

We had a few days with 2-3 feet of snow this last winter! Almost got my Raptor stuck. 21" snow tires don't seem like a good idea. lol. i do have a set of 19s here i could test fit to see if they clear the rotors. Wrong bolt pattern but still should be able to see if they would work.

Garage List
19" won't work. 20" are the smallest you can go.

Some 19" do work. 2 persons made it work

As said above, the spare is 19".

Here are some pictures of my spare in MY2018

But the official word is 20" and above.

True it is a 19, but I'm sure the offset and rim concavity is specifically designed to clear the calipers at 19".

If you can find a 19" that meets this PLUS tires that also work, great. But I bet at the sizes our vehicles need, 20" is where to start.
