NEW RELEASE: Dinan F85/F86 X5M/X6M Exhaust

The F85 X5M and F86 X6M are the quintessential SUV in terms of power and performance with accolades in numerous periodicals crowning them the pinnacle of their class. With the possibility of putting down over 700 HP with a base tune these vehicles are no slouch. Dinan engineers wanted to match this impressive feat with an equally impressive exhaust tone that let those around these SUV's hear the power that lies beneath the hood as well as be able to show it.

The exhaust system was designed to improve exhaust flow by reducing back pressure, resulting in increased power output and a deep sound that is civilized when you want it to be, and pleasantly aggressive under hard acceleration. Dinan also incorporates a Helmholtz chamber design that reduces resonance or “drone” at low RPM. The technology within the can is matched in impressiveness by its outward appearance and design as the system is built to exacting specifications to ensure a simplistic bolt-on installation. It is made from 100% 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and will resist corrosion for years to come. The design features quad 89mm (3.5") black ceramic exhaust tips for a tasteful, high-performance look.

Benefits of the Dinan Free Flow Exhaust for the F85 X5M and F86 X6M:
  • 8 HP @ 6000 RPM, 7 FT-LB @ 6000 RPM
  • Quad 89mm (3.5") laser engraved black ceramic exhaust tips
  • Enjoyably louder, sportier sound with a deep growl
  • Helmholtz chamber to reduce drone
  • Computer controlled valve limits noise during low speed driving; valve opens fully during high-load conditions to allow free flow
  • 100% 304 stainless steel construction
  • Bolt-on Installation

$5k for tune + exhaust sounds a lot better than just exhaust for the same money.

Very tempting, though I imagine we will get slugged with an Australia tax which won't help.

They are controlled with you M1 and M2 settings, if the car is in sport plus they will open, just like the stock one does

Bravo Dinan for the best priced axle back with valves on the market. Actually price looks like a error.

It's half the price! Get the tune as well

There's no pretending that the exhaust doesn't look as flash as some of the others, but it is going under the car after all.

it is certainly a girthy unit.

i also enjoy that buying their tune AND exhaust doesn't merit a dinan badge on your vehicle.

That butt looks familiar.

This exhaust is brilliant. I've been through many on previous cars and DINAN always delivers the perfect combination. Highly recommended.

The sound difference is 1, valves open and closed and 2, with or without Dinan tune.

There was no comparison between a stock exhaust and the Dinan exhaust. All of the above is deeper than stock.

Yep that makes sense now, should have paid more attention... Too used to stock comparison videos, which to be honest would be more useful here.

Stock exhaust valve actuators are re-used. As far as controlling the valves in the cockpit its just via the M1/M2 buttons.

Start selling immediately. The first production run will be finishing off the assembly line today. Posted the release a bit early since the video went up on YouTube anyway for other purposes.

Australian import tax I believe is only 5% so you have it good compared to our neighbors up north where the Canadian exchange rate is over 30% in the wrong direction. You do obviously have higher shipping costs though.

And a big thank you again for the continued use of the car for development. The market will thank you as well for the multitude of goods you are allowing us to bring to the market on this car. It shouldn't be ignored and I am glad it is not. =)

Definitely not an error on price. We are aggressively going after the F85/86 market. Next up for release... springs and intake.

And yes thanks Wdimagineer (even though you cool sh*t in the process).

@Dinan ... How will your springs differ from say ACS or H&R?

For all practical purposes they will be very similar to ACS but slightly more aggressive. ACS lowers the car .5-.75" whereas the Dinan springs will lower the car .75"-1.0". Dinans goal in suspension systems has always been to retain suspension travel and thus drivability by pairing the spring rates of the springs and bumpstops in unison for a factory like ride. In the end you get a smooth ride while reducing the ride height and improving cornering ability / reducing body roll with none of the typical pitfalls of a suspension that lowers the car way too aggressively for the primary goal of, "the look".

wdimagineer may be able to chime in on the ride quality since hes driven on the springs / bumpstops a bit. I know he said hes not a huge fan of lowering in general so I would imagine his feedback will be more critical then most which for our purposes is exactly what we desire.

wdimagineer is the OEM drone gone with this exhaust? I notice some drone when I'm just cruising, have to give it just a little gas and the drone disappears.
