Battery Registration
Looking for a tool to register a new (non-BMW) battery. The replacement battery is of the same type(AGM) and CCA(900) but the Ah in the new battery is 95Ah compared to 90Ah in the original BMW battery. Most reasonably priced tools to register the new battery will not change the specs on the battery.
How important is it to change the exact specs if it is the same type and CCA? I understand the importance of registering a new battery so that the charging system does not overcharge the new battery. If the exact specs are not critical to the charging system, I will purchase a tool and simply register it as a new battery. |

enet cable off ebay is about $10+ISTA. There are 2 different procedures registering the battery and coding the battery, registering is for replacement with exact same battery, coding is for the battery of the different specs.
Just FYI search works pretty well here: https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1732762 |

You can also use the BimmerLink app to register a new battery. Bimmerlink is the sister/cousin app to the Bimmercode app. You would also need either an OBD II adapter (their site www.bimmercodeapp.com lists compatible adapters)...or cable like Red_y_ mentioned.
You can get the Bimmerlink app info from the Bimmercode website.
