Some like to lower while some don't. It's all a matter of personal preference. As long as you don't lower on 19"-20" wheels, you're ok. The X5 is just too big otherwise and looks bagged. This is an example of something that just doesn't look right on 20s, unless the new Q7 station wagon is what you're into :

He needs some spacers and it will look better. I have 21's so it might be better. What's stopping me is I still like taking it off-roading in the mountains and this will not help the ground clearance. I already have the kit sitting in the box though.

Agreed, but he still went too low for his 20s. It has a ricer look in my honest opinion. The height Ben (r33) lowered his looks perfect on his 22s. I think if you just do that amount you'll be good. However, I agree since you do tend to go off-roading (from your recent picture), it will definitely hinder you. What suspension option do you have in your car? Stock, M adaptive, or DHP?

Wish Eibach came out with a pro kit for the X5. I'll be putting on forgestar 20's on here to keep the ride quality good. On stock 20's that does look super wagon' out

I have the m dynamic suspension. What is r33 using for lowering? My h&r kit has springs in the front and only lowering links in the rear since I have self leveling suspension. I believe r33 has HRE wheels on with the aggressive offset that improves the overal appearance.

Yes, I think he has a custom setup if I remember correctly. r33, can you comment? I know he has HRE P104 22" staggered 22x10.5 front, 22x12 rear. I think he lowered 1.5"? I forget.

Needs 30mm spacers in back 20mm in front to salvage the look. As said better to drop on 22"s.

agree whit opasha if you go whit 22" it could work, r33:s lowered x5 is OK, but to be honest I’m always skeptical about shorter springs on a suv but I guess that’s about if you want to maintain some utilitarian look or not, the best would to put in some adjustable bilstein shocks or something, but that’s $$$

Just a couple, including nasty salt covered ones, I wonder if these are random enough or if they are obvious I took them just to post them here...

Sorry, just got back from the dealership.
My F10 528 lease are up, so was at the dealership bargaining.
Ended up with F10 ActiveHybrid 5. Originally wanted an i3, but my wife brought up a good mention regarding the rear door, where she won't be able to open it and take my kids out if the parking spot is too tight.

Anyway, my F15 uses H&R spring with my own rear spring combo that I've research. But it is still H&R spring. My X5 have all around springs, not rear self-leveling.

greentrbo95gst , since your car has rear self-leveling, you just need to use an adjustable link to trick out the ECU on the ride height.

I do have a quiet aggressive setup on the HRE. When I was on the 20", it does screaming for a spacer.

paicapo , I know lowering an SUV is not right, but that is why I get an sDrive. Because I know that I am not going to bring the X5 to an off road. Also, I hate the feeling of a high center gravity during a turn, since I don't take my turn lightly.

As far as my drop, I believe it was 1.5" front and 1.25" rear.
The X5 do have taller gap in the rear by default to compensate when you towing.

Taran.J , as far as my experience, Eibach is a good spring, just a little stiffer compare to the H&R. Also it doesn't drop as much as H&R.
