Having the same issue and more frequent. How did you know it was just the bags and not the compressor.
I am completely deflated on both sides but only Parker for a couple of days. It goes back up when driving |

My 2016 X5M with 30k miles is having the rear struts replaced for this issue under warranty at the dealer right now.
If you go the dealer route, make sure you have picture/video evidence as they won't do any work unless they can either replicate the issue or have proof from the owner. |

I just replaced both rear air springs at 36K miles - Air Spring - BMW (37-10-7-850-225). Done while still under factory warranty.

I'm in for the same thing. It depends on the days, but either both will go flat or just one side. Again, sometimes it's after an hour or so, other times it's after 8hrs+ of sitting. Does it once a week. I sent the dealer multiple photos of the rear pretty much slammed to the ground.
I'm at 40k miles exactly. Issue started around 38k miles.

Been having the same issue. Been lowered for over 40k miles. Took the car into The dealership and SA was aware of the mods. They replaced the KW adj rear links to bring back to stock height for warranty purposes and pictures. Should of taken pictures of the car deflated but it has been happening so much didn’t think it wouldn’t happen
So the car has been at the dealership for over a week. Not once has it been replicated It has been abnormally hot in my area and thinking the warm temps are causing the bags to soften up sealing any cracks. Or replacing the oem links and full height and air is sealing the bags Not sure what the deal is but SA is super cool as held the car much longer hoping the problem would replicate [/QUOTE] |

Thanks but I'm still under warranty. Both bags were changed (free of charge obviously).

Where is everyone located who is having this issue? I presume everyone garages their Ms. I wonder if climate related. When lived in AZ it was so dry all rubber products hardened quickly. Hoses, guibos, belts, tires, trim, you name it. Here in New England it's a different deal. I believe heat and lack of humidity accelerate this issue. Maybe one more than the other.

Yesterday I got a message with Chassis restricted / drive moderately .. I got home , parked and went inside .. came back out to get things out of the cargo and noticed the left rear was dropped while the other three were raised . I am researching where to start and this thread has been very helpful.. I think I will flat tow it to my local BMW dealership to get it diagnosed .. I am just out of warranty this month .. depending on what they say , I will order bags and compressor online and have it installed at another reputable shop ... |

If out of warranty, I wold order two bags & flat bed to reputable that have Pre negotiated price. This is based on your description of issue..why flat tow to dealer for a you pay diagnosis..it 99% is both bags as you described it being lower in back on both sides at times and one now.

I went with these just like almost everyone here, better than OEM quality and you get lifetime warranty from FCP euro. Independent mechanic usually charge 2 to 3 hours for the labor. Don't take it to dealer if you are out of warranty, they quoted me $750 per side for parts & labor.

Ok , I just dropped it off at Bimmer Clinic here in Southern California .. parts and labor $650 , consisting of the two rear bags..
Shop owner is a BMW master tech that opened his own shop and has great reviews. Will pick up tomorrow afternoon. A side note : As I mentioned , left rear was dropped down while the other three were raised .. By the time I got to the shop today ( about a 15 minute drive ) the same left rear was back up and all four corners were leveled. |

Funny enough, the dealership went right after the two rear bags and suggested a slow leak. |
