You must be the only with that opinion because all i've seen are people praising it. Nobody got time to replace tires every 20000km. Of course you are going to give up some performance but the trade off for longer lasting and quiet ride sounds good to me.

Been fitted in production since around Aug this year, my dealer confirmed it would be in the car I've just ordered......and just about to cancel

Cancel? Because of the spec change?

Yes.

BMW can't deliver what I ordered, or wish to buy

No idea.

Still so angry that clear thought processes aren't very forthcoming

What's worse is that I turned down an earlier build slot (week 47) that would have got what I wanted, but passed in favour of a later one into 2017 because of a work commitment and issue with taking delivery of the earlier one - never expecting such a change in production for Jan week 1

No.

Cancelled order because BMW-GB have deleted the 'Pure Experience' Exterior design pack option for the SE models (all the design packs have been dropped for the SE model)

How about the M sport trim, well equipped I guess! you now get the 20" alloys as standard, maybe an option for you going forward, the resell value later on is always slightly better for M sport versions.

Specifically didn't want a M-Sport, as don't want the stupid staggered wheel sizes as I want to run all-seasons.....
And with the even more stupid 20" alloys being standard now I want one even less.

I may still have to consider it though

But, I'm having a test drive of a Cayenne tomorrow, as the new one is out soon, and there maybe deals to be done on the last of the existing ones to shift them as most people are waiting for the new one. Not too keen on the idea of an underpowered crappy VW diesel engine though.....but we'll see.

Garage List
The Cayenne E-Hybrid is surprisingly very good. Decent pairing of electric motor and turbocharged V6.

Maybe so, but here in the UK its £12k more expensive than the diesel version......so not an option for me.

Paying cash to downgrade is nuts from your side, but for BMW a step out of the production line and supply chain in place is simply an extra cost regardless of the material cost.

I'm going with the stock 20" 597. I will not pay $1200 for same size 20" 491.
Going down to 19" without cash difference is suitable if one doesn't need/want dedicated snows.

Good luck on your 40e. I too looked at Jag F Pace back in Oct., no stock, list price wait till Feb 2017 and the reliability issue, not for me. BtW, my trade in 2014 x5 50i was 1st year after E70, no issues.

For Canada 20" are standard, whereas most countries 19" are default.
Yes silly that they think that folks will pay $1200 for same size but different color and style. I got the 20" 597 without additional cost.

IMO the M Sport is THE best option, specification especially with the Andaptive Suspension makes a huge difference to the ride quality.
Are you saying the default on the configurator is 20 and not 19" now?

I'd specced the Adpaptive Pro suspension anyway on my SE.

No, 20" isn't default on the configurator as yet, as it hasn't been updated as yet, probably won't be for a few more weeks I suspect.

But from 2017 Week 1 production 20" will be default on MSport's.

In the UK 20" wheels and reverse camera are standard on the msport along with a £2k price increase. The configurator has not been updated to reflect the changes yet. I placed an order for a M50d on 1st November for a week 4 build slot in 2017 and i get the new spec. The £2k price increase on my order translates to an increased invoice price of about £500 to me as i had specified 20's and reverse camera. The dealer has revised my order and the price increase gets passed on to me. Which i don't understand as i thought they would honour the old price!

The only model with no changes to the price is the 40e, and still have all the new changes i.e. 20", Idrive now with touch screen (this was already on for the M50d), Reveres Camera and Loud sound system.
I am surprised the increase in price is is passed on to you by your dealer, this is out of order when ordering the top range M50d, the worst outcome should be you sharing the increase with the dealer.

The M50D gets a £2k base price increase. I had specified reverse camera and 20" wheels which are now standard so the total cost works out an extra £500 compared to before. The dealer has passed this on to me. I was expecting to be locked in at the old price given that I paid my deposit and confirmed the order on 1st Nov, but they are adamant that this gets passed on to me. Secretly i was hoping they would have honoured the old list price and the cost of my options would have gone down by £1.5k for me to spend that on something else but that doesn't seem to be the case. The new price carries a higher GFV so gave a marginal extra discount and now the PCP is identical to before.

One benefit is that the 468M wheels were previously £325 extra when specifying the m sport plus pack, but as 20" wheels are now standard I get them at no additional cost. I had specified the 469M wheels previously but was going to ask to change and pay the £325 for the 468M's but I don't have to now.

I don't know how UK BMW dealers manage price changes in circumstances like mine, so if anyone else has experience let me know what you think? I did read the small print in the price contract and it does mention that price increases get passed on but if i dont agree then there is 14 days to cancel the order and get a refund on my £1k deposit. But this may just be a standard T&C thing and i'm not sure thats what happens in practice usually?
