X5M Wing Mirror

Hi all - quick question, help much appreciated.

let the missus drive the X5M today - just got a call, i hit something with the wingmirror!

Left a decent graze on the coloured part - but fortunately no mechanical or glass damage.

I will get the mirror fully resprayed - Can anyone tell me if the coloured part comes off - or do I need to disassemble the whole mirror?

You need to disassemble mirror to get the colored part off. May be a good time to consider a minor mod and get black or CF mirror covers. Seems like you have the ammo to justify it with the lady.

hmmm - good thinking!

Though the car is Arctic White - not sure what cf wing mirrors will look like against the white?

Has anyone tried the overlay style CF mirrors? This is only of passing interest to me so I apologize in advance for not searching the threads as I really don't care that much. As such, feel free to disregard this message.
