Wheel hub? Hmmm. Not so sure.

So do I trust the dealer with my left front clicking noises as needing a new hub for 890? And they say it's from potholes so not a warranty item. I think it's brakes or CV. Not sure.

Stealers love to remove & replace parts. So unless you've got $890 burning a hole in your pocket, maybe a 2nd opinion is in order?

Agree! I think a few diagnostic dollars at my Indy shop is in order.

Is it the wheel bearing issue that you are having? Clicking noise when turning?

Simple friction discs under warranty are all my dealer installed for the clicking noise, and no more noise. Apparently there is an updated bulletin. I posted my invoice here a bit ago.

That's exactly it. Gets louder when turning and only seems to happen when brakes applied. Can't figure how that's a hub. There is a fix for that? I'll research some posts. I was going to bring it to my local Indy. I am a bit confused especially when dealer says 'do this'. I am losing trust with them as small things are also happening there:

-pair of pliers on the oil fill cap damaging it (and leaving it)
-engine cover post grommet missing
-rear calipers are all stained with white stuff after brake service. Maybe they sprayed something on them when hot?
-left service indicator on after all my service. Now it lights up every time.

What does all this mean for the major stuff?!

When my M5's wheel bearing went, it made clicking noises while turning. If this wasn't an AWD car, I'd say changing the wheel hub is just four bolts. AWD and a half shaft will complicate things.

Based on your other experiences, I would look to a different dealer.

Good luck,
Chester
