Coldest start, issues/tips?
We regularly vacation to upper Minnesota, and it looks like we may even head up into Manitoba & Saskatchewan, staying in cabins, dead of winter.
What is the coldest you have started your x5? Anything to note? I'd probably consider 0-20 mobil one as a preparation- any thoughts? I used it in my 7 year old tuned subaru turbo- I seriously stressed that engine- but took good care of it And the 0-20 had zero ill effects (77k miles, lots of hard acceleration.)... might have gotten better gas mileage. |

I think the coldest I've needed was like -20 Centigrade, not that cold I guess. No problems. I used the Mobil 1 0W40.
Bigger problem was I needed chains, so make sure you those.

I never plug my bmw in in Canada, and run standard oil from the dealer... no issues
