There have been some good deals on ebay lately for complete BMW coding laptops preloaded with all software and ready to rock out of the box. They're typically used, older laptops but perfectly fine for the purpose.

My old setup bricked somehow so I picked one up last week for about $300. Leveno X220 thinkpad running windows 7 with the nicer screen with all tools loaded, help files, etc. plus an enet cable.

Why would you assume that? Mine came loaded with Esys 3.27.1 along with every other conceivable BMW tool.

Indeed I do. Esys launched through Esys plus. No idea if that's good, bad or indifferent as I can FDL code most anything I need through bimmercode anyway. I guess I could install the other launcher if needed but I only needed to VO code a few things on the F15. I use NCS Expert and other tools for my E46 M3.

In any case, my only thought in the original post was to point out to folks asking questions above that if you need a dedicated laptop anyway then you can buy one preloaded with all the tools.

Hmmm...I remember doing some coding (Bimmercode app) where you can change the colors (white or red) of the cluster. I did it just to see what it would look like and decided not to keep it. But I'm not sure if it is the overall lighting...I do remember those lines at the bottom of the cluster changing colors and staying either all white or all red.

Unfortunately I don't remember if I did it to my 2013 F06 650iX GC or 2014 f15 X5...and they both have the 6WA cluster...and I believe it may have been done using Expert mode.

Do a search for the coding parameter charts that are out there and then check to see if your communication bus & modules have this coding parameter.

???? KOMBI-->3007 KI_Dimmung, 24-->DIM_NACHT_EIN-->Werte=FF ???

EDIT: Looks like you need to have the KOMBI module to do the above coding...if you don't have the KOMBI...then this is a no go.

Trying to code folding mirrors. Have mirrors that fold on the button and the fob if you keep the button pressed, but want them to auto fold on lock and vice versa.
I've coded these:

CAS / KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA = aktiv
FRM / ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv

i have kombi and

KOMBI-->3007 KI_Dimmung, 24-->DIM_NACHT_EIN-->

Werte is either activ or nitch activ, and it doesn't matter what i select it still turns red at night

But I must be missing something. The mirrors only close when I hold the keyfob for 30seconds.

Also been trying to code Enhanced Bluetooth, I added 6NS and VO coded the modules but I still don't have office in the menu or the ability to add 2 mobile phones. I've removed and re-added the phones, it just doesn't make any difference.

Anyone any ideas?
