Just got the Valentine Gen2, works like a champ.
There is a comparison video between the 360C and V1gen2 on YouTube - both very, very similar.

IMO, valentine. Cheaper, amazing range. Unless you care for the escort app, etc.

Side note - ordered my v1gen2, and it said back ordered. Within 1 week of ordering, it was out for shipment.

Escort app is garbage. I have Max 360C and love it. Auto WiFi updates when you pull into the garage. Amazing range, truly.

I've had the Valentine V1 it it was equally good. The reason I went Escort is that you can intergrate the laser shifters wireless, no need to drill for cables. So basically escort later shifters in engine bay wireless connect to the Max360C. It's fantastic.

If you don't plan to get escort laser shifters, either will do. But also then either is pointless because 99/100 CHP uses lidar and the the detectors will detect, but it's already too late. 🤷*♂️

It is almost impossible to beat Lidar, as it instantaneous. By the time your detector detects it, the cop already has your speed. Hopefully, there is some refraction off of other vehicles and your notified and slow-down in time.

I have laser shifters on my E63 AMG, but not on my X5M.

I just pulled the trigger on the "Escort Redline 360c and M2 Radar-Mounted Smart Dash Cam" along with the "Blend Mount" with the Mirror Tap... anyone done that install? Seems like an easy DIY... even for an incompetent baboon like me.

The only thing that concerns me is getting it plugged into the right spots in the wiring harness in the mirror.

I'm planning a 10-hour trip down to Miami in a few weeks... Ill post comments after.

That's funny that you mention this, I just purchased another escort detector the 360c MKII with the M2 Dash Cam. I also purchased the mirror wire tap as well. On my X5M, we did the hardwire kit all the way from the battery. But, I didn't want to go that route with my F80 M3, so I choose the mirror wire tap. I'm not sure what wires to tap into, and I do not have a volt meter, so I will take my M3 to my local audio shop and have them install it along with my Vantrue front/rear and interior dash cam. They only charged me $150, to do my X5M and E63 last year.

I've had 2 V1s for 20÷ years with free software updates... flawless . Paid for themselves first 6 months in NY/CT. Only unit made in USA out of metal, not plastic.
I have upgraded to the V2... even better. It should be noted that Mr Valentine invented the radar gun that his detectors have now defeated. Regarding instant on laser... no detector can save you if you are a lone (speeding) wolf. When it's just you, hang right.

That is why you allow that rabbit out front to stay ahead of you. You don't need to lead the pack. A State Trooper can't catch them all, but he can catch that one.
I have been using Escort detectors for years, and have been very pleased with them. Escort does offer free software updates, but the Defender Database will cost you $50 for 3-years.
