FS: 2014 X5 35d M-sport. Silver/black, 67k miles
Hi all. Tesla Model Y arriving relatively soon and debating selling our X5 vs trading in. Specs below. The car is in outstanding condition. Averaging 27.5mpg mostly around town. 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35d. 68,500 miles Glacier Silver, Black Dakota leather -M-Sport package -Driver Assistance package -Lighting package -Harmon Kardon sound -Nappa leather dashboard -Rear manual sunshades Also has a Stealth Hitch installed with wiring and towing ball and receiver hitch. I am the third owner. New Pirelli Scorpion Verde (non-runflat) tires installed September 2019 at 57k miles. EGR cooler recall performed November 2019 and they replaced the EGR cooler at that time. Also came with a 5/yr or 100k miles All State Powertrain warranty but admittedly unsure if that's transferable. Needs nothing but a good home, the car is basically perfect! Honestly unfamiliar with the market for these cars. I just did a quick search of relatively local M-Sport 35d's for sale and they seem to rare birds at least in my neck of the woods. $21,000! When you get a little time in with the Model Y PM me I would love a comparison with the X5. I have one on order too but delayed the pick up Until June

I actually hadn't realized how 'rare' they were, especially with the M Sport package. There are only 33 2014-'16 diesels within 500 miles of me with only 6 of those being M Sports.
Anyhow, great car! |

Hahaha figured I'd just throw it out there in an effort to make someone really happy. I priced it just barely above the trade in value with tax credit. It's one of those perfect cars you just hate trading away to a dealer...
I didn't note above but it does come with both keys and Maxpider 3D mats, including the trunk. Literally changing the air and cabin filter today because it's their 12 month time to be done, despite selling or trading it in the near future. Title in hand as well. |

Trading to the dealer Saturday morning. Double bonus to anyone near Alexandria Virginia who want to complete the purchase at the dealer!

While definitely interested in the car, what concerns me is in both CA and NJ the DMVs are closed and there's no title transfer and new registration and license plate service. NJ said to be reopen on April 27 but they've said the same since March 1 and kept extending it. What am I going to do with a diesel that has to be frequently driven to avoid carbon build-up and I have no place to park unregistered?

You could do the purchase through the dealer I'm trading into and then they'd transfer the title and do a temp tag followed by the real one in the mail like normal.

It would be as a 'courtesy trade', so still on our agreed pricing, not theirs. I've done it plenty of times when selling privately and also buying a new vehicle. Basically, they act as the middleman in the deal. You get the great price, I get the tax savings towards my new vehicle, they take usually charge me several hundred $, everyone wins. They do all the paperwork for you and of course you could even finance through them if need be.
Happy to help with it if interested. |

Second post from a from a long time lurker.. This is an unbelievable deal on an F15d- I was offered $24k to trade a 2014 X5d with ~50k mi a month ago at a dealer in NoVA (and I thought that was a low ball offer, ha!).
Also, there's nothing wrong with letting a diesel sit for long periods of time- can't build up any carbon if it's not running. Just throw it on a trickle charger every couple weeks to keep the battery topped off and you'll be good to go. |

Believe me, I've thought long and hard about just keeping it and still getting the new vehicle but with only 3 garage bays there's nowhere to store it.
Definitely no issue letting a diesel (or really any car) sit other than perhaps worrying about the battery. But even then I'd only worry about a month + sort of time frame. @ apxxxxx: You'd just have to pay whatever normal tags/registration costs are. $150ish? And of course your NJ sales tax. I'd take car of any 'processing fees' the might charge. |
