I only have access to a 7amp charger so not sure how long all of the listed actions would take and whether the charger will keep up?

I have tried installing HU_NBT through esys and get the timeout fault previously listed. Sorry for confuison regarding my previous post if I load FA, activate FA, read ECU the NBT does not show - when I click calculate that is when HU_NBT appears in red.

Whats your thoughts?
If both ISTA and E-Sys cannot even see HU on bus, I don't think you can do anything until it is at least recognized. Seems there is some hardware / firmware issue. Not sure if it's HU or ZGW.

ISTA is showing HU-H now whereas before it was showing it as HU_0X63.

A distinction without difference, I think. 0x63 is the Diagnostic Address for HU. HU still shows in RED, which is Not Responding.

Just a thought - if the wrong istep shipment was chosen when we were getting the BDC_GW out of programming abort could that cause the connection issue now? If so should I re-flash BDC_GW ensuring the correct istep shipment is chosen? Are there any other modules that I should re-flash in the same fashion that could be affecting the communication issue?

Wrong Gateway firmware can be an issue. I would not worry about other ECU.

I am looking at purchasing the Mr12Volt carplay MMI box. It uses the MOST system for audio and requires the TV function to be coded. I am not finding any info on how to add the TV to the NBT multimedia options. Does anyone know what I need to do to add this option? I found 1 comment that said I need to add 601 to FA. If this is accurate which modules do I VO code this to? I have do some coding to my X5 following the guides here and just a beginner at coding these cars.

Hi everyone, please help me with coding Msport steering

So I bought new steering with Heating, vibro and paddle shifters.

My car (US) doesn't have driver assistance package.
So I don't expect vibro to work. Same with paddles, haven't done wiring yet.

But I want to code Heating. And LIM button to work. (I had SET on old steering)
I did replace column control switch and after coding Heating button lights up. But no Heat to steering.

I attached pics of old and new steering, coding done and Error below

Heating option is physical switch only, no coding needed.

Sorry I have only just had a chance to try re-flashing the BDC to see if it's a firmware issue - however when using your method of changing the original SVT_ist file Main, Sub, and Patch versions to 000 to force a flash of that ecu I get the following errors when executing the TAL that has been created. Any ideas please?

SVK-Ist does not match expected SGBMIDs means wrong I-Step Shipoment.

Is BDC HWEL in svt_soll Black or Red / Blue?

The i-step shipment I have chosen is the original one that the vehicle came with as per previous posts I think the issue may be that I chose the wrong i-step shipment when I was trying to get the BDC_GW out of stuck programming mode.

See attached for BDC GW after I changed the versions back to 000.

Understand that for a non factory fitted ECU, its I-Step Shipment is most likely not the same as the car's I-Step Shipment. The correct I-Step Shipment is one where the ECU being flashed has HWEL in svt_soll that is Black, not Red / Blue.

So after you calculate SVT Target (SVT_soll), check the box that says "HW-IDs from SVTactual" and then Save it. If HWEL is Black only, no Red / Blue HWEL, then you can proceed to flash it.

If HWEL is not Black only, the only thing you can do is try different I-Step Shipment dates until hopefully one works. This is simply Trial and Error.

You've been able to find more than I have. I was thinking of swapping out my RoadTop to the Mr12Volt as well. I'll try and look at it with bimmercode later this week. I don't want to mess around with ISTA when I have no idea what to look for. The people at Mr12Volt should really put something on their website on how to do it because I've seen nothing on enabling TV mode on the NBT, anywhere. They're either not going to sell anything or have many returns.

I was able to find the TV option and simply enabled it. I was assuming I would need to VO code the TV tuner to the car. That was not the case. Once I enable TV it just showed up as a media option. My issue now is with the Mr12Volt carplay box. After a few minutes the audio starts to cut off. If I am on the standard idrive screen I get screen cuts outs for a few seconds. I haven't reached out to Mr12volt yet to see if they have a resolution.

Hopefully it'll get solved. Their carplay box looks really interesting. If you don't mind me asking, do phone calls go through the BMW side of things?

Question: I want to make all VO code changes at once and reprogram the all car (or close to it). It is a 2015 X5 F15 x3.5.

I-Step F025–14–07-505 (same i-step for shipment, last and current). I am using 2.8.1 launcher and e-sys 3.30. That’s the combination that seems to work the best. I coded a bunch of stuff already with no problems (seat belt warning off, remember AC, DVD in motion, radio off and open doors when engine off, etc…).

I have never done any VO code, so to make sure I am doing it right, wanted to ask if my plan is "sensible" and I have been doing a lot of research past few weeks to try to figure it out.

This is my current Salapa folder looks like this and I have never changed it so that’s the original:

1CA,212,245,248,255,258,2H7,2VB,302,319,322,346,3A G,3AT,3E1,402,420,423,430,441,459,488,493,494,496, 4AC,4NB,4NE,502,508,522,524,563,575,5A1,609,610,64 5,655,676,697,6AC,6AE,6AK,6AM,6AP,823,845,853,8KL, 8S4,8SL,8SM,8TN,992,9AA

My VO coding plan:

1) VLD: add VLD, so remove 8S4.

2) Enhanced bluetooth: Add 6NS. Some guides talk about removing a code some don’t. I might already have enhanced bluetooth because I can listen to my iphone music collection with USC (and bluetooth), if that's the case why that code is not there already and should I still code it?

3) Sport mod: add 2TB and clear error code with appropriate steps

4) hitch install: I am installing a Draw-Tite 75600 hitch and following this thread about programming it:

https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1732198

it calls for adding K235 to the HO-WORT folder and then VO code (confirmed from official BMW retrofit instructions).

Are there other VO coding option worth the trouble? I am planning on VO code once and take care of details with FDL coding.

Is it ok to make all changes at once and then VO code the all car or all ECU one at the time?

Starting hitch and OEM wiring harness and module tomorrow.

Is the plan ok?

should I VO code something else while I am doing the rest?

Thanks a lot.

hitch installed and plugged in. Of course I am getting the trailer error on the dash. I'll wait to code the car, want to first confirm my thoughts in previous post.

Was your original, non-sport steering wheel heated? Meaning, do you have a button on the left side of your steering column that activates the heated steering wheel?
