Roof cargo boxes

Looking into getting a box for long road trips. Doing some research but like to hear from the f85 members. Which box and cross bars are you using? Does your car fit in your garage with the box on?

Leaning towards Thule but like to hear some feedback

I have the Yakima and my friend has a Thule. They are pretty similar. The rest of my stuff is Yakima so the locks all match so I went with the Yakima.

However, if you are buying new cross bars, I would suggest you get the factory bars or the Thule bars. The boxes and other accessories fit on any cross bar but the OEM or Thule bars are easier to attach. I had Yakima bars from a prior car so I used them. Once attached they are great but since the are designed to work with different cars (changing clips), they are a little more difficult to attach.

Awesome setup. Looks like you have the box mounted pretty far back in the rear. Do you have any pics of how much you can open your rear hatch? Ended up buying a motion xt alpine which is .25 inch longer than your box. Was concernedwitjto much front overhang but I really needed a slim box.

This is the best-looking box setup Iíve seen yet !

Is the sunroof still functional when installed?

Is there any issue with the rear hatch opening fully?

I like the lift set up to take the box on and off. Hard to do with overhead garage doors and a conventional garage.
