Other than the steering wheel, the Supra interior looks far better to me than the Z4. I dont' even really like the new M Sport steering wheel but that Supra wheel looks way too bulky. The Z4 doesn't look very sporty and seems disjointed. The Supra looks far more focused and has more of the minimalist Japanese design.
It seems like all Toyota did was design the body parts and tuned the suspension on this car. That's definitely less involvement than was originally promised. |

F30 Console, G20 steering wheel, Toyota suspension and tune, bmw engine. The TRD version will probably regain the lost power to differentiate between it and the Z4. This however looks far better than any Z4 I recall. Inside and out. Excited about it, BMW tuners should have no problem getting into this since it's basically a B58, just expecting Toyota to maybe use a different lock for the Ecu that may take some time to break, but I'm just surmising. Aftermarket support manufacturers are probably already salivating at their profit margins here. Expect a BMW like tax for BMW parts and mods that go on a Toyota

Toyota makes cars with interiors FAR better than what we have in our F30s in Japan and through their Lexus brand. And better than what will be in the G20. While this car is not a Lexus, Toyota has pretty high standards for their high-end cars which the Supra most definitely is. What do you see that indicates that this car has more in common with the F30 other than the steering wheel controls and maybe HVAC controls? Nothing important, anyway. |

I thought I read somewhere that the deal was BMW will share engine/tranny and whatnot and Toyota will share some of their hybrid technology. Now this is vaguely in my memory so I have no sources for this...

BMW has hybrids already. It does seem like their front drive platform is derived from Toyota in the X1,X2 and 2 series GC as well as Chinese 1 series. The transmissions are built by the same OEM as Toyota.

I know they have plug in hybrid in format of e models, but I was under the impression that the Prius hybrid systems were just better in managing the switch to improve gas mileage. I know e models are plug ins and a little different, but still. I am super bummed about the X2 being FWD though...

Not trying to be a hater (I'm not even a huge Supra guy ... I actually prefer Skylines lol), I wish they had called this car something different. I actually think its going to be a pretty awesome car and would love to test drive one. I just think associating the "Supra" name with it is a mistake. |

No "backseats" for the Z4. You can build an i4 on BMWUSA.com now.

Can you please describe specifically what you are talking about? Dead ringer? The F30 interior looks so outdated now. This interior looks modern and clean. |

Again, can you show where the Supra is using "leftover" BMW parts and how it's a dead ringer? |
