P.S. It's F30, but it's same 6WB. I'm just thinking maybe it's some kind of software update to 6WB that is needed?

AFAIK, the 6WB cluster has a HUD version and a non-HUD version, it's not cross-compatible.

First of all, be sure that 6WB is for F15/16 , any other F series is not compatible, and if it is for F15/16 and hud still not working, the hid output is bad and need another 6WB or to be repair.

I plug in the 2 harnesses on my 6wa and I have HUD. I plug in the 2 harnesses on the 6wb and the HUD is gone...

He needs to make sure he has F15 DKombi, and not one from other F1x (e.g. F10, F01, etc.) as HUD Warping is different in F15.

Then make sure these are FDL Coded:

DKOMBI => NAVI_NBT_ENABLE = kein_nbt
HU_NBT => GUIDING_KOMBI_HUD = aktiv
HU_NBT => KOMBI_CIC = kombi_high

And just in case it needs saying, data can be displayed in DKombi or HUD, as selected via iDrive Menu. It is one or the other, but not both simultaneously.

Shawn thank you! Just one more question: if i go to Kies Motorsport website I can buy 6WB cluster and proceed to checkout without specifying what model I have - they list f01, f02, f10, f11, f07, f15 and f25 as compatible with same 6WB!?

I am not vendor. I can't speek for them.

That said, 6WB is not one-size-fits-all. 6WB is not even possible in F25, and if it were, the F2x Kombi is physically different size / shape than an F1x Kombi, so the fact that they list F25, that alone should tell you that the website is incorrect in regard to which models it supports.

And I wrote earlier, 6WB HUD warping is different in F15. In F15 HUD is part of Kombi, but in F1x, HUD is a standalone unit with its own coding.

Thanks Shawn! I just wanted to make sure there is no other way but to return it and get another 6wb that is f15 specific. Lots of sellers claim they are compatible, when in fact they are not like you said.

I only say there are different 6WB's, and their website is not correct. As for what 6WB one actually has, this I don't know. I'd check part number in ETK.

if it's any help, i used p/n 62108781321 for the 6WB i purchased and installed in my 2017 successfully with HUD but was told it would work in car with and without HUD.

Right. It supports HUD, which means it can be used with or without a HUD, but notice this Part number is Unique to F15/F16, and is not common with other F1x cars:

cool, just providing information for those interested so they know what p/n will work through actual experience.

additionally, on the kies site it does not mention the p/n being provided. perhaps upon purchase ben asks for model information to confirm which will be sent to work accordingly? just a thought.

It is. VIN is on Label, which is 0G57526, and it is a 2014 F16 with HUD.
