Carplay & Radio?

Is there a way to use the radio and Carplay at the same time?

Carplay, when it starts seems to take over and turn off AM/FM/SiriusXM.

That shouldn't be the case, just switch to radio and you're good to go.

I often use CarPlay maps while listening to satellite music. I rarely listen to FM but I can and still use CarPlay maps 😇

I was always under the impression it was one or the other. When using car play you have to use music from your phone etc. but he just said he uses sat radio at the same time so that's got me perplexed.

Think of apps in CarPlay as sub apps in idrive. CarPlay maps such as Apple, google and waze can run in the background while you browse thru other non CarPlay apps. You can launch fm or satellite music and have them play while you toggle back to the CarPlay maps. You can then drive having Apple maps navigation you while listening to fm or satellite music.

I'll try to take a video and post it here 😜
