So can I have traffic jam function without installing any chips?

You will either need a module + new steering with touch sensor, or need a chip.

Hope you have success. Mine is still working great.

So as I just said. You either buy the $300 chip and wire it inside the steering wheel (10 min job) or you buy the module and new steering wheel to accommodate said module....with both quite a bit of coding is required.

I am getting the same issue others. VO coded everything, then verified FDL coding and now lane departure vibration and TJA both don't work. Tried removing and reinserting the chip a few times as directed.

Maverik259 Do you have the m-sport steering wheel, or regular?

So what was the fix for your earlier issue?

A loose cable essentially. Probably I was too aggressive when installing it but noticed after removing quidzel that one cable was loose and the errors with and without Quidzel were the same. Just resoldered and everything solved. Their customer service is quite nice I must say as they had shipped a replacement just in case already.

Also adding TJA will reset KAFAS2 to Euro specs that means lane departure warnings will only get enabled at higher speeds. I had to manually set

It functions just as the manual describes (congestion assistant in the manual)
I see you're also in Colorado - Did you do this yourself? Will this work in an F10?

Yes, did it myself. No clue if the F10 has the required hardware/software. Was TJA (or congestion assistant) discussed in the owners manual?

They sent you a replacement huh. Wanna send that over my way lol. I think I messed up one of my connections on the chip when it got stuck in the right port of the steering where where you have to shove a screw driver in to unlock the airbag lol fml. Nothing but ACC errors now.

You shouldn't have to add 5AR and VO code if you do the FDL coding. One or the other will work.

When you VO code an ECM module, the system looks at your list of installed options (such as 5AR) and sets all of the values within that ECM based on what it believes the vehicle was ordered with. So if you add 5AR and the VO code the modules, it will set the values needed to enable TJA

Alternatively, you can just set the values yourself by FDL coding. It produces the same result.

For example, adding 5AR and then VO coding the KOMBI module will make the following values "aktiv":
KOMBI 3004 DISP_CC_DRASY_ALIVE
KOMBI 3004 DISP_CC_DRASY_CRC
KOMBI 3004 DISP_CC_DRASY_TIMEOUT
KOMBI 3004 DISP_DRASY_ALIVE
KOMBI 3004 DISP_DRASY_APPL
KOMBI 3004 DISP_DRASY_CRC
KOMBI 3004 DISP_DRASY_TIMEOUT
KOMBI KL_PREDRIVE_F17_STA
KOMBI STA_ENABLE

Or you can use the FDL editor and change the values yourself. You don't need to do both.
Sweet then I will install it tomorrow and hook up my app and see how we do! Although this is a bit confusing as even on the cheat sheet on the coding thread it mentions all three: 5AR, VO, and FDL
The reason I added the VO on the cheat sheet was for the following, besides that this is the right way of doing it. Yes you can code everything FDL, but that doesn't mean you should.

When you take the car into the dealer and they need to do something that requires a reset of you FDL files which happens more than you think and for smaller reason you would believe... you will get a nice surprise to put it nice.

When you add something VO it's permanent so to speak and everything that is done at the FDL Level can be reprogrammed, but it's nothing that will throw any codes as it just returns it back to what it would have been factory if it would have come with the function... only allowed on freeways, speed cut of at XYZ Speed etc. - but fully functional.

BTW cool that they have a "easy fix" nowadays, on the other hand I'm kind of glad to have the wheel with the touch sensor, as it sure adds an extra safety layer...

I installed Quidzel and did all the coding but the steering wheel icon doesn't appear. I didn't notice any errors. I emailed Quidzel about the situation but was wondering if any of you ran into this..

I bought the Quidzel sensor and installed it (super easy 10 min job). I still have to do the coding. I see the instructions earlier in the thread, but they all say to "activate 5AR", then do the coding. So my request is, can someone post a step by step on how to turn on the 5AR, then what order to do the coding? I really appreciate it...I suppose the VO method would be best?

Just do the FDL coding according to the cheat sheet.

Let me know if you get it to work just with FDL coding cuz I've tried that and still get an error when trying to activate it.
