Headlight adjustment

Which way do you turn headlight adjustment screw, CW or CCW ?
I tried to turn the screw just about a quarter of a turn each way but did not see any effect while X is parked on level parking lot last night. I have a 2015 with adaptive xenon headlights and low beam just does not shine far enough and I find high beam too high even for normal highway driving.

{for instructions from the BMW TIS website click the following link for all the details and prerequisite compliance you need to do...the info & pics below were extracted from the TIS website: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ent/1VnXbF1hk3 }

Screw? Which one...there are two screws...one for vertical (#1) and one for lateral (#2) adjustment:

And based on the "test prerequisite instructions" for adjustment...the headlight switch must be in the "manual low beam light position (#3 in pic below):

Thank you, Qsilver7.

I had made adjustment as trial and error, now I see a did it wrong. Had to go on road trip to Chicagoland and decided to do the adjustment based on few post I read awhile back. I was worried I could be doing it wrong but proceeded to do it.
I had the headlight switch on "auto" position but it gave me the result I wanted. But now i notice more light on side of the road even though I did not touch the lateral adjustment screw. Not sure if maybe steering wheel is not perfectly aimed straightforward. Im going to back out the 2 full turns i made and set it again with headlight switch turned to position 3.

I hope you ran some tests with a friend as incoming traffic that you’re not blinding the heck out of incoming traffic.
