Anyhow, Koanga took car of the "virginization" and programmed my car once I installed it.
He did a good job, I recommend reaching out to him.
The 6wa is a nice cluster. Good mix of analog and digital.

Way nicer than the basic version, the offset display bugged the crap out of me.
Anyway, this thread is about the 6WB, and I merely wanted to post about recommending Koanga, since he's able to help with the 6WB too.
Once he was up and running with UltraViewer on my old laptop, it didn't take long at all for him to get the final step done..

This ^^^.

Looks cool, definitely not worth $3K.
I could buy new wheels and a performance exhaust with that cash before I buy a digital display.

6wa is optional too. There is generic base cluster with just a small digital screen on the bottom.

Both base version and 6WA has mechanical dials.
Base version has a small digital screen, off center to the right bottom of cluster.
6WA has a wider digital screen, centered at the bottom of the cluster.

6WB as OP is talking about, is all digital.

Post #25 (right above your post) mentions that there’s a “basic” cluster.

There’s the basic analog cluster, the 6WA analog/digital cluster, and the 6WB full digital cluster. There are also visual clues as to which cluster you have before you even turn the car on:
  • Basic cluster: it has 4 full circular anodized rings for fuel/speed/tach/oil temp & digital portion is offset to the right (see area highlighted in yellow in the first two pics below)
  • 6WA cluster: has 4 anodized partial rings with analog needles and each ring is open on the bottom which allows for the digital portion of the display which fills in the lower section of the 2 larger rings with digital info (see 3rd & 4th pics below)
  • 6WB cluster: has 4 anodized partial rings that are in the shapes of two mirrored Cs facing each other & all details/info/data is digital/digitized (see 5th & 6th pics below)

Just read the main 6WB thread here:
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...039855&page=20

You still can have Navi on the hud, you can't have navi instructions on both at the same time. If you turn the HUD off-it will display on the cluster, if your HUD is on-navi instructions will be still projected there. I personally use HUD navi at night but during sunny day I turn the hud off and switch to cluster navigation for better visibility.

Does anyone know what's going on with my car.I installed the 6WB cluster a couple month ago.And I was very happy about that, but one time I parked my car,and left, when I came back I started the car and there was no any lights on dashboard.Just got all black.I got home and unhooked the battery, and after 5 min hooked back, and it was working again. After a couple weeks i got same problem, and did same procedure. And got it working again. But yesterday it happened again,I did the same and it didn't work.PLEASE HELP!!!I am pretty sure someone got same problem as well. Thanks a lot.
Now when I start the car it shows me I drive message and I even can't select anything from menu.

What year is your car? May be your battery is dying and needs to be replaced?

Which engine do you have? Diesel? 3.0 or 4.4 gas? I don't think this is related to 6WB cluster installation, I would suggest testing your battery.

Can anyone advise a 6WB cluster to pick up used? They all seem to have different part #s. Can I get any 6WB? I have a 2017 G30.

Thanks for the help!

also does anyone know if you can get a 6WB cluster that is KPH coded to MPH? Since it is all digital is it just a code change?

Thanks!

Part numbers can be found here:
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...039855&page=20
As well as the answer to your second question, yes it can be changed to km/h or MPH.
