Most definitely

I also need to order a F83 prior to EOP August 2020. Would be interesting if BMWFS extends my current lease at the same payment terms for an other year if F83 production is effected long term, so I slide into a G83 late 2021.

Could be 6/12 months before they reopen based on latest science and then serious lack of demand once this is all over

I would guess mid May, but only a guess. Once I opened, I think demand will be great, as people like me whose lease will be up early June will need cars and supply could be short. We shall see, as everything is unknown at this point.

I predict that BMW FS will give current expiring leases a 1 year extension if they are waiting for a production slot due to the factory shutting down. It's going to take a while for the supplier network to resume operations, as it's a world wide integrated supply chain.

That would be interesting. I maybe better off just buying my car if it gets delayed that long. Maybe BMW will give deals on our existing leases to buy out.

Ripple-effect: see here ("European companies face coronavirus hit to supply chains - Italian auto supplier warns car groups’ production lines may be brought to a standstill" - FT - February 26, 2020).

So I got email and phone call from my local BMW, production closed till 19.04.20 nobody can tell when the car will be delivered but itís already clear that it will be significantly delayed. I will wait till end of April and will try to get an offer for stock M8 if my order will be ready only by the and of the year.
