I really want to see a body colored lip. 3d design makes body color lips for the F10 and they look great. Not sure It would work on a x5

I'll toss it on in a few weeks. I just installed my side skirt decals today. I'll install my rear fins Sunday if the weathers nice. Ended up buying a 2016 2500 Ram so I've been tricking that out

Do the rear fins require adhesives or just screws?

Both I believe. I haven't opened the box yet. Betalink and screws. Don't know if I can use 3M or what. Hey Alan l. what did you use?

For the rear flaps you just need to use screws and some VHB tape. Even with just the screws it's enough to secure them.

So I sent my X5 in to my BMW dealership Monday morning. Got a call today stating they messed up and it didn't look right. I asked if they could elaborate on that and they totally ignored that and said to keep my loaner until next Monday or Tuesday.

As a DIY'er since I wanted to Betalink the front lip on for good I thought it would be in the best interest to pay them to install it. Now I'm worried sick they may be reworking my entire front end since I've removed a Betalink product before and it wasn't a clean rip off BMW's paintwork at all

That's a bummer.. but at least you know it is in good hands and the dealer "should" do what is necessary to install it perfectly. I'm sure you will already do this but inspect the hell out of your front before going home I'm looking forward to the pics though..

Thats strange. The front lip can really only go on one way and its pretty clear cut. Hope it turns out ok.

Did you paint the lip body color?

Alan

Personally, I'd ask for details and would probably want to drive down there to see for myself depending on what was really wrong.
Really hope thy didn't scratch it up and need to repaint it.

They said it would have to be removed. With my knowledge they'll have to order a new a new lip since that's how the original buyer of my lip chipped the car on was because he removed it from freshly applied Betalink

That's maybe why they're making me wait a week.

I doubt they can cleanly remove it since they called me three days after install to say they were going to remove it.

Got it back. Lip was limping on one side so they did get it off without tearing apart my front end

So guys my OEM replacement fins just came in the mail and there is one "washer" thing I'm unsure where to fit. Or why it's included. Any tips?

It's for the new holes you have to drill under the bumper. When you install the self tapping screws this goes on the other side where the screw turns into this washer sandwiching the CF fin to the bumper. There should be more than 1 of these....

There's 4 per pack. Just moved one aside in the package to take the pic. Ok that's what I thought. Didn't see anything in the instructions oddly maybe I read over it
