Absolutely the most stunning interior I've seen in a BMW! Wow congrats!

I might need to look into that rubber pad under your son's seat. I have mocha nappa in my X5 and I just have a thin towel underneath his seat, but I'm still worried about permanent imprints in the leather.

Fantastic looking interior especially with the CF trim.
Been looking everywhere for pictures of this finish and in the end I had to take a gamble in my order. My order has the smoke white comfort seats with the BMW individual extended dash and doors in two tone smoke white and scotch leather finish and BMW individual piano black trim. Now I've seen yours just cannot wait to receive mine |

Just search for "car seat protector". You can find all levels of protection there. |

Hey, OP.
Looks like someone resurrected your thread, lol. Curious to know how the Smoke White leather has heal up over the past 4 years of ownership, as I plan to build my next car with the white interior in 2021. Does the beauty hold up over time? Does it take a ridiculous amount of meticulous care to keep it looking new and fresh? Any info on duration over time would be highly appreciated, since I'm interested in going with a different interior color other than red next time around.

Smoke white is doing just fine. I am very pleased with how well it has held up. It is not an exaggeration to say that it looks very close to when I picked up the car. My dad is always amazed when he gets in the car and comments that they look the same. When I got the car, my son was 7 and had a tendency to kick the back of the chair. I just got a seat back covering and the problem was solved. I never said anything about the seats to him and let him do the things that 7 year olds do. It was always easy to clean when I washed the car. Now that he is 11, I find he has a tendency to put his feet on the seat more, but even that doesn't really cause any issue. I use Mother's VLR when I do see dirt or spots and it comes up easily (and gives some protection). [For frame of reference, he plays baseball, basketball, tennis and runs cross country and always complains when I tell him to take a shower. But he's mine.] If there is one issue I've found, it's ink transfer from jeans. Curiously, it only seems to happen on my seat and not any of the other seats. It would appear as a slight bluish tinge on the seat bottom, lower back portion and thigh bolsters. VLR removed the majority of the ink, but there is still some staining. After two years, I don't even notice it, given how the rest of the leather has remained pristine. One huge benefit is that the color lightens the interior of the car and conveys quality. Previously, I always selected black or dark leather in my cars, thinking that was the best way to keep them looking like new. I now have a new appreciation for lighter colored interiors. I am pleased with my choice and would not hesitate to do it again. Hope this helps. |

I can understand the ink from your Jean's may leave it's mark over time, since it would be the most used seat in the car. I completely understand that kids will be kids, so the steps you took to mitigate the aftermath of a child growing up and enjoying life are spot on and great advice for if and when it may take place in my future car. Good to know that you're still enjoying that beautiful machine and I thank you once again for the write up! After reading this, I'm definitely going for a white or light gray interior for my next X6M, so I'll follow your advice when caring for the light interior color.

This is gorgeous. I keep going back to this post to look at it 😂 I just found a X5 with this interior (took so long). Excited to get it. I've always been a black interior person but I love the contrast between all the colors here.
