This setup actually looks really good, how did the tires hold up?

Tires have held up well. I put about 10k mikes in them while installed (currently have winter 19" setup on) and rears look really good. Fronts are showing some wear on the outer edges but I see no issues getting another spring/summer/fall round on them. If interested I can post tread depths and pics when I put them back on in the coming weeks.

In a community that is as mod-heavy as this one, I am literally shocked that there are so many people that favor OEM. I definitely like quite a few OEM options but I am much more of a fan of aftermarket.

Good to have diverse views though!

I think BMW has done really well with their OEM wheel offerings on the F15/F16/F85/F86 chassis, specifically the 20" & 21" options. Even the E70/E71 had some nice wheel options - 214's, 333's, 375's. There's a lot of BMW models that don't have any good OEM wheel options.

Just my .02.

I just wish they offered nice 19" wheel options.

I prefer the OEMs. You can just have them powder coated how you want

I got mine done and they look great.

Thanks, I went with the same setup almost. I went for Achilles tires as they were the same price as the mucho macho and seem to be more commonly used by local tire shops. 400AAA rating and saw some youtube reviews that are favorable.

Im curious if you remember the offset of your reps? Mine were advertised as 20x10 with 40mm offset front and 20x11 with 37mm offset rear and I received 45mm fronts and 40mm rear. Worried about installing them.

My specs were the same as you listed but i didn't check them. Happy to check them if you describe process for verifying as they are in my garage and not current on the vehicle.

I was die-hard OEM with my gloss black 612s and never thought I'd want anything else, until I realized I'm irrational and get bored quickly. While I'd kill for a set of HREs, I'm also realistic and have fallen in love with my BC Forged 22" RZ21s.

I always liked the black 491s and waited too long to buy one. A month after the purchasing the 491s, another deal came up for a 599M and quickly snagged it. Nothing like having meaty 325/30/21s at the rear and forged "weight optimized" OEMs.

Any shots on the car?
Been thinking of doing the same or maybe gunmetal...

They look nice. It cost me $520 to have them done with a turn around of 3 weeks.

I did get the tires & TPMS' installed, plus balancing done at the dealership. Nobody wanted to mount them for fear of scratching up the rims. BMW did it with no issues, pretty much applied a crap ton of grease around the lips and didn't scratch a thing 🤙🏽

OEM wheels are nice and strong, but with aftermarket you can find much lighter wheels.

On stock springs you might not feel much of a difference, but with stiffer springs, lighter wheels will lessen the harshness of the stiffer springs when going over bumps.
Lighter wheels will also help with acceleration, if you are into that.

So for me, it's aftermarket...

Yeah, 275/40R20 all round. Since I don't have the wheel arch extensions, and because I like to rotate my tires, this is what I went with. Also gives less understeer on tighter bends....when I have some spare cash I will get some 5mm spacers for the rears, just to even out the look a bit more.

Definitely OEM, the F15 wheels are pretty bad ass, so i wouldn't go for aftermarket. Customizing OEM wheels i guess its a different topic...

sleepy topic any new ideas?

has anyone had contact with these rims?
is it a cheap and low-quality product, and stay away from it, or recommendable?
