I can assure you I am not a punk kid who is trying to pose that I have a X5 ///M when I clearly don't. I have owned about 10-12 ///M cars over the years. I chose to own the diesel X5 over the X5 ///M due to fuel economy and the third row option. I have 4 kids at this point, and my wife has an ESV Escalade. We need a lot of room to transport kids to sports and such. I currently own a M6, I have owned several M5's (E28 M5, 2 x E34 M5's, E60 M5), several M3's (E36 M3, 3 x E46 M3's, E90 M3), and my current M6. I guess at the end of the day I didn't want to pay the premium for all of the factory OEM X5 ///M parts, then peel all the stickers and emblems off them to leave blank square recesses.
Well stated.

The oil burner got some more front end parts today. Now my entire front end is completely brand new, and has a lifetime warranty curtesy of FCP Euro. Car feels great now, and I am very happy with it. My next project is going to be the brakes on this car. Although my brakes are basically brand new, I am not satisfied with the performance of them. Going to experiment with some different things to see if I figure out something I am happy with. Probably going to powdercoat them similar to my 2008 M5 brakes. I was really happy with the way those turned out.

Thank you. It was a 21 point Dinan car with tons of mods and one of the most amazing sounding exhausts I have ever heard. I miss the car every time I think about it. Here are some better pictures of it.

Just a simple small mod today. I have been talking about it in a couple of threads, and I finally sourced one and got it installed. I wanted to replace my stock one due to a couple of scratches you can see in the pictures. They drove me crazy, and I figured I would upgrade to the ///M Performance version to match my steering wheel and door sills. I did not want to upgrade to the carbon fiber shift knob, because my car has the upgrade black ceramic knobs throughout. I actually love the black ceramic shift knob and dials. I apologize for the filthy condition of my car at the moment. It’s what you get with 4 kids all in sports, and a daily driver that sees a lot of miles back and fourth to work. Next two items up for me will be getting my front windows tinted to match the tears, and I am having my vinyl guys wrap all of my interior wood grain trim in 5D gloss carbon fiber. Cant’t wait to see the results with the Mocha Nappa leather.

I have had a few requests for links to where I got my shifter badge from. The credit has to go to another forum member who found this seller on EBay. It took a couple of weeks to get to me, but the quality and figment was spot on. I am very picky about the parts I put on my cars, and this was a great pickup. The pictures show you the quality of the item compared to the OEM stock one above. Install was extremely simple. I used a heat gun to warm up the stock one and make the adhesive backing soft. Be careful not to use too direct heat, or let the shifter get too hot. You want it very warm, but not hot enough to damage anything. At this point I used a thin pry tool and you want to pry from the bottom of the badge. Prying from the top does not work as well. It will pop off very easily from the bottom. At this point I cleaned everything very thoroughly to avoid issues with the new item installing. Use the heat gun again to warm up the adhesive backing on the new badge, and peel and stick it to the shifter. I then heated everything up one more time to ensure it was warm and the adhesive glue fully stuck. Then I used some paint sealant to seal and protect the plastic on the new badge. I will probably ceramic coat it after I clean my interior next. This should hopefully prevent any future scratches or scuffs.

Here is the link for everyone. This is the exact seller I purchased mine from.

Have you thought about replacing or wrapping your interior trim? Mine is the same as yours and I can't stand the look. Look's like something that would be in my grandparents Buick

Yes, I am. I have included 2 pictures of the material I am using to wrap mine in above. It’s a gloss 5D carbon fiber vinyl.

Sorry, I totally skimmed through and missed that! Can't wait to see how that turns out. If it turns out nice, I might let you wrap mine too

Had my F15 since the Fall, but haven’t made a ton of progress with the mods or upgrades until now. Need to document more of my progress, but it’s more difficult these days with 4 kids. For those who recognize my screen name, I have been involved in the BMW community for years now. Have owned a lot of toys over years. E28 M5, E34 M5, E39’s, E38, several E46 M3’s, E60 M5, E63 M6, F30 Msport, 2013 X5 35d, etc, etc. I think I am somewhere around 30 BMW’s total over the years. I will do my best to show the changes and improvements I make to my current 2015 X5 35d. It is a full option car minus night vision. Even has vented seats, soft closed doors, extended leather, driver assistant plus, LED headlights, M-Dynamic suspension, 3rd row, etc. I bought this to replace my 2013 35d that I absolutely loved. I am now on my 3rd BMW diesel as my daily. 2015 328d Msport, 2013 X5 35d, and 2015 X5 35d. I have a long 45-60min commute into work daily, and the diesels work out great for me personally. Plenty of low end torque for daily driving, and great economy for the long hauls. I’ll start my build with some pictures of my 2013 X5 35d. My brother-in-law decided to buy it off of me, and currently owns it. Of course I did a lot of mods to it over the time I owned it.
How did you get that paint to look so beautiful

Lol!! Here are some before and after pictures of my E70. When I got it, it looked nothing like how I made it look. The car had a stubborn pinstripe I had to remove. Took some serious buffing and paint correction, and lots of sealer and wax. The paint was beautiful when I got it done though. I loved my E70! It was a great car for me, and the reason why I converted from sedans recently.

Beautiful work man. So I'm thinking of doing some mods to my F15 as well. Was going to get a bumper lip for the front but can't decide if to get carbon fiber or black. Would also get the rear spoiler and thinking if changing the mirror caps to m sport as well. Thoughts? Here are my before and after so far on my car. Changed the grill, put on my black wheels, tinted the windows. That's it so far. Don't mean to hijack your thread.

I think either will look great with your current color and mods. Car looks great so far. I would do the painted reflectors and lowering springs next. Those will make a larger impact for less money.

I purchased a set of 50i calipers today. Trying to decide on rotors right now. I am caught between going with the R1concept drilled and coated rotors, and the Zimmerman coated solid rotors from FCPEuro. The advantage with the FCP Zimmerman’s, is they come with the lifetime warranty. Wasn’t sure how often the 50i rotors wrap, so this is a concern of mine. The R1concept rotors are quality units for a good price. I also think the drilled rotors will look more aggressive and give the vehicle a sporty look. I am planning to powdercoat the calipers to keep them clean looking and pop a little more.

Transitioning from the 19" to the 21" wheels really does the most impact on the aggressive looks. Very nice build.

Drilled rotors def give it a sporty look. I was thinking of changing mine just to get the ones that have the drilled holes and change the brake pads to ceramic for more durability.

BTW I used the adams ceramic kit you suggested! Couldn't be happier

Looking great buddy!! You know I love the color combo, as I had pretty much the same look with my E70. Super sharp!

On the brakes, I am pretty torn. Does anybody have any first hand experience with the R1concept setup on their F15? This would be specifically with the 50i 2 piston brake setup.

I ended up going with the 50i brake upgrade. Going to rebuild all the calipers to new condition myself. Thinking of Powdercoating the caliper orange to go with my Carbon Black car and make them stand out behind the gloss black wheels. For rotors I went with R1CONCEPTS drilled and silver zinc coated units. Pads will also be R1concepts Semi-Metallic which are known to have the most bite for daily driving. This setup should serve me well.

Love the idea of orange. I was thinking of coloring my calipers similar colors. Drilled rotors still look great too! I was thinking of replicating this color scheme in this 2 series but wasn't sure. I'm excited to see how it comes out on yours
