Pure Turbo Upgrade - Anyone Do It Yet?

Anyone on the forum running the Pure Stage 1 or 2 turbo upgrades for the N55 on their F15/16?

I am curious because I can't find much info about them installed on F15/16 models. I can only find info on the other forums with other N55 models.

I spoke with Pure and they are direct bolt-on with the same footprint as the factory. They confirmed you can run the Stage 2 on 93 octane with no requirements for meth or upgraded fuel pump. However, you just get less power gains which I am fine with.

My current setup includes an ER DP, ER charge pipe, ER tic pipe, MPE Exhaust, BMS CAI, and JB4. I am awaiting info about when the Wagner Intercooler will be available and hear some user results as that will be the next upgrade before the turbo. Lastly a BM3 tune will be purchased once out of warranty in about 12 months.

Thanks.

I have seen a Pure Turbo for F30 N55 engine, but not for the F15.
It does not appear that they're the same, as a lot of people would jump on it by now.
For the intercooler, everybody is waiting for someone else to do review before purchasing!

I was thinking the same thing as well that people would have been all over the turbo. I have emails back and forth with Pure and they say it is a go with the F15. I am going to give them a call and double check again. I may have to be the guinea pig if they confirm it does in fact work.

At some point, someone will have to become the guinea
If it works, you'll be a pioneer.....Keep us posted!

I had the PS2 turbo on my 335i N55. GREAT upgrade. Pulls hard all the way to redline. Stock driveability with 500+ who on tap of you go with meth. Straight 93oct and like 16-17 lbs is fun too.

Thanks for the response.

From all that I have seen on the 335I, I am praying this is a direct fit on the F15 with very little tuning required. This is my DD so I am going to refrain from the Meth (for now at least). The power gains look pretty nice for even just running 93. Couple that with a BM3 tune down the road and it will be a fun little grocery getter. Just enough to surprise some of the people in the area that always want to race me.

What kind of mileage did you put on your 335 while using this upgrade? Just curious if I should expect any type of reliability issues. Don't expect to beat on it constantly, but would like knowing I have that little extra power there when I want it.

I put 30k miles on it. No issues. Was the perfect upgrade for a daily. I ran 23lbs with 93 and meth, no issues and hauled ass. 0-60 was like 3.6s. 11s in the 1/4. Grated the X5 weighs a bit more Haha.

Looks like I will be the guinea pig for the intercooler. Pure confirmed the stage 2 turbo would work, but definitely upgrade the intercooler before the turbo. I found that Wagner just got in a small shipment that will be shipping out late this week so I had to jump the gun on the intercooler. I will let you know how it goes once it comes in and installed by my Indy.

Where did you get the ER TIC pipe? I'm quite interested in one of those

Hit up Ben (R33_RGSPORT). I got it as a set with the charge pipe back in late fall for a pretty good price from him.

Morning,

Sorry for the confusion

I have the black anodized ER Charge Pipe - http://evolutionracewerks.com/node/243 and the black anodized ER TIC/LIC Pipe - http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/317. I got both from Ben back around Black Friday for a great price.

ER references the pipe as both TIC-Turbo to Intercooler and LIC - Lower to Intercooler on their site.

Is that the pipe you were looking for?

No I was thinking of the turbo to intercooler pipe, the lower chargepipe that you got didn't fit mine, does it fit yours no problem?

Interesting. I installed the charge pipe, but never got around to the lower. I was planning on taking care of that when the Wagner Intercooler comes in about a week or two. Thanks for the info. I will have to touch base with Ben to see if he has had any experiences with that. Can you confirm where the fit was a problem and I will do a little more research myself as well as speak with Ben.

Thanks man.

The connections on the intercooler are male and the pipe connections are female (on our n55) the connection on the lower charge pipe from the f10 n55 is male

Not yet.

Wagner still has not shipped it. They gave me the story that they had a small amount in stock when I ordered, but they did not pass inspection.

They were having some issue that they had to do re-work. Apparently since these originated overseas, they weren't as familiar on the specs. They are doing the repairs in the US instead of sending them back overseas. They were in the process of doing a first article production test on their fix late last week / early this week.

I was told to call back this Wednesday to check on a status to determine an approximate ship date.

Just as an update, spoke with Henry at Wagner Tuning today to check on my order.

He confirmed they were able to fix the problems they were having with the first batch and they passed inspection. They are in coating now. He said he expects the first batch to ship by Friday with my order being one of them so hoping to have the intercooler by late next week.

I will get some pics posted when it comes in and an update once installed.

I completed the Pure Stage 2 upgrade on my 2015 F15 X5 back in Nov. It's 100% plug n play!
