Gauge cluster right blinker no longer working

Hello, having a little problem was wondering if anyone would have any advice. When I turn my right blinker on, the turn signal lights outside the car work but on the dash it usually doesn't light up "blink". It sometimes stutters but usually doesn't light up at all. It makes the noise but no light.

The left side blinker works fine. If I turn on the hazards, the lights outside work perfectly but inside only the left side works "blinks".

Does anyone know if I can get just the bulb inside replaced? Or am I supposed to change the whole unit in the cluster gauge? Basically, if I can get away with replacing just a bulb I'm going to fix it. If I have to change the whole unit which I know will be expensive, I'm going to leave it alone.

Thanks

That's new.... will probably become a common issue with F15/6.

What cluster do you have? Base or Extended (6WA)?

Either way... you can search up a local electronics repair spot, once they tell you to bring it in, disassemble the unit and bring him the board they'll fix it for a few bucks.

Lmk if you need any assistance disassembling, I have a few parts clusters at my disposal that I can demonstrate with via photos.

Thank you for the response!

I have no idea which cluster I have. Its a 2015, X5 M Sport, without the lane keep assist or anything like that. No Active cruise control.

Man I would be kinda scared to mess something up. I guess I will call a few shops and ask around but I appreciate the info.

I believe there are approx 3 different clusters.

There's a base cluster with 4 solid rings (2 large 2 small) and a smaller digital area for warning lights etc.

Then there's the 6WA cluster which is analog/digital...it has 4 anodized aluminum rings that are open at the bottom and has a larger digital area that goes across the entire bottom of the cluster...and actually closes the four anodized rings when the cluster is illuminated.

The third cluster is the all digital 6WB...it also has four anodized rings but they are open on the sides and look like a small c and a large C mirroring each other. And when you select Eco-Pro, Comfort, Sport modes the design of the cluster changes in relation to which mode you're in.

Base cluster: you can see the smaller digital display located at the bottom center

The pics below are of the 6WA & 6WB clusters: the 1st pic below shows the location of the 6WA's larger digital display portion...the 2nd & 3rd pic shows the anodized ring's opening on the bottom & analog needles. The 4th & 5th pics shows the 6WB all digital cluster with its anodized C shaped rings and digital displays:

Thank you for the response. So mine looks just like the 6WA and 6WB clusters.

It's either one or the other. Can't have both. Lol
6wb is the fully digital cluster.

Hey! Did you ever figure out how to fix this, or should I bring it to the dealership because I have the same exact issue?

No, I never got it fixed. My car is no longer under warranty so I left it alone considering that the blinkers still work from the outside of the car. It just doesn't light up on the gauges.

Hi guys I have the same problem that’s just started to happen in my F15 2014 50i. The right blinker sounds like it’s working properly but the green arrow on the dash sort of just flickers randomly (not fast) instead of just the normal on & off. the left green arrow on the dash blinks normally. I have the 6wa dash, anyone have a solution? I’m guessing that the LED has had it.

I know this won't fix your issue, but it's cool to do. I think f15 would have same procedure.

Any new updates on this issue?

The right arrow in my gauge cluster is not lighting up but none of the bulbs are out and it makes the clicking relay noise.

Seems odd that several people have the same issue and it is always the right indicator. Perhaps this means it is something else other than a bad LED in the cluster.

I have already tried disconnecting negative battery terminal for 10 minutes with no luck.

Did you run the cluster test as shown in post #13? If not, press & hold the instrument cluster’ trip odometer reset button after pressing the START button once (foot OFF the brake)…until you see 02 SYSTEM TEST (or something similar). See if the right turn indicator illuminates during the test….just like in the video above.

Has anyone found a service to repair the led in the cluster without having to replace the cluster itself?

I've done the self test on mine and it definitely it out. I've got the HUD programmed to show it but it would be nice to fix the cluster also.

Yes, I have done the cluster test as well and the right green arrow does not light during it. I guess this proves the LED light is out but it still seems odd that multiple people have the same exact LED go out. Maybe it is just a weak part of the PCB.....or it is still related to something else like a lighting control module that can be fixed elsewhere.

if you guys have HUD...you can code the car to show the blinkers on the windshield as well. On my car I have coded this in even though my cluster is working fine. This should solve the issue. The HUD solution only works with base and 6WA clusters and not with 6WB.

In Cali with a X6M, are you sure you had the blinker option fitted?

I've seen the guy on FB marketplace offering repair services for such problems but he is in NorCal.
