F15 M sport front lip spoiler

Hi all,

I’m new to this forum, use to own a 135i m sport. I just got my 2017 m sport and really wanting a front lip spoiler , but don’t want to pay $500 for one! Do you guys have leads, I’ve looked on Amazon, AliExpress, and all I can find are three piece versions. I want a one piece assembly like pictured below. Thanks in advanced.

You aren't going to find a carbon one for less than $500 that is worth buying. You can go with a gloss black one on ebay but the fitment will be all over the map. For my money, I'd buy the OEM M Performance one that is for sale in the classified section for around $500.

That's how much CF parts like this cost...450 is on the lower end for a CF lip. On the plus side, you're unlikely to ever scrape it in contrast with an e82

Semper Fi--Aim High to my fellow service member. Retired USAF here.

I thought I wanted that same splitter, until I saw the Maxton design one. I ordered and installed myself at home. I saw reports of the one you show not fitting well and others say they came apart at highway speeds.

The Maxton design one is rock solid. It has not moved. I had to drill mounting holes in it. They are marked on the splitter and I used 3m tape. See attached photos.

If you get the Maxton design one don't use too much tape it could cause a gap from the splitter to your bumper. I also bought the rear diffuser and the side skirts(not installed yet).

The front splitter and the rear diffuser will need to have holes drilled in them. You don't have to use the 3m tape on the front. You will need to use something to hold the rear up in addition to the mounting screws.

If you don't care about true carbon fiber you might be able to find something cheaper, but with current situation shipping costs went sky high which makes bulky parts like these get expensive. On the other side X5 is not a cheap car so you should expect to pay extra to get extra.

Something about these "what's the cheapest mod I can do" threads bothers me...

I’m just looking for the best bang for the buck…is that really unusual. When you shopped for X5 you don’t jump at the first one you see, maybe if it’s a rare find and all the particulars are there maybe. But we all shop around for the best deal and that’s all I’m doing.

Well you did not buy your X5 from Amazon or AliExpress knockoff, right?

Do you what you need to do: it's your money. Even the $500 JC Sportline you have in your first post is a replica. What I personally couldn't bring myself to do is buying a pricey vehicle (such as the X5) and then sticking on lots of knockoff eBay/Alibaba/AliExpress parts. You'll always sacrifice quality, fit and experience.

Personally bothers me enough that unless it's OEM, it doesn't go on my vehicles.

But... to each their own.

With used cars, I fully agree. There are deals to be had since some sellers want to make money and some just want to get rid of a car quickly. If you want a deal on parts, look for used ones that the owners no longer want cuz otherwise you more or less get what you pay for and CF lips under $500 are bad quality
