Mine been pretty solid, 110K miles knock on wood. the only major issue was Radiator and the last two times I disconnected the battery had to get the steering reset, don't ask me why the stabilization light comes on

I recommend some serious forum-surfing to better understand the order of disassembly.

Ultimately, I took a full day to pull things apart and reinstall. Even with great care and some experience with BMW interiors I managed to snap the tabs off the rear climate controls cover. Looking at the backside of this trim, I cannot see how it can ever be removed without damaging the mounting tabs?? More likely, I just had not seen this procedure...

Attachment 2776276

The manual's illustration shows the carpeted side covers already removed - I recall mine were still installed when i pulled the cover off.

Anyways, that cover cost me $189 for the replacement.

All in all, totally worth it. That rolling coin was an annoying m*%f%*ker! Ended up being a 1966 penny rolling back & forth in our vehicle.
Thank you! My temp fix was just to turn my music all the way up lol.

Question No auditory cue when locking vehicle.

I've had my X5 for a little over a year now but I got bored of that "Space Gray" color so I got it wrapped a darkish blue. I was surprised but happy when it came back with no proximity sensor or adaptive cruise control sensor issues. The functionality of the car is perfect, it starts fine, it runs fine, the AC is a bit slow to heat up or cool the interior but it's always been like that. However once the car is parked and I get out of it, I press the lock button on the key fob and the light blinks indicating it's locked but it won't produce the auditory "chirp" noise to indicate that it has locked. The locking mechanism works so I'm not worried about it getting stolen, however I lock it and tend to second guess myself, so I unlock it, then lock it again to hear the locks click into place. I have already tried calling my local BMW dealership and got no response from them. Does anyone know if there is a "quick fix" for this issue?

You checked the settings in iDrive, right? If you did and still not working, check these thread out:

Quick fix? lol. That does not even make sense in the context of BMW. Sorry.

First thought... try pressing your panic button on the key fob. That chirping noise comes from the alarm siren module located under right rear bumper. The panic alarm sound comes from the same module. It is a $250 part.

If you or your local Indy connect with ISTA+, you may see a stored fault code pointing you in this direction, too.

First though should be checking the iDrive settings.

Comfort seat issue

Hi all,
I have an issue with my f15 electric comfort seat thigh support. For some reason it stoppet working not moving at all when I push the button forward, I can hear the electric motor clicking, sounds like it has something stuck in it. I assume it has a plastic gear in it which is broken just like in the e70. I could not find any information on the internet. The whole mechanism is complitely different from the e70's. I've tried to remove the electric motor but I could not due to the seat frame. The seat on the picture I attached is the same as mine.
Do you have any suggestion how could I remove the motor form it or do I need to remove the whole seat before ?
Any Idea is much appreceated!

Taking the whole seat out and going from there is probably your best bet. I've done some interior work before and after a while it can get cramped and leave you in a bad state of mind (a state of mind you don't want to be in whilst working with these fragile interiors) plus, a visual inspection of all the motors wouldn't hurt. I've never done anything with my seats though so take what I say with a huge grain of salt. I also found this for parts replacements.

Have you had the wheels checked for being true? You could have a bent rim.

Only had one issue with my 2017 F15 diesel, and it had strange symptoms. Never affected driving or anything, but occasionally would pop a code for P0675 and either P02D5 or P02CF. I couldn't ever find any info on those code combinations anywhere and it drove me nuts until I finally took it into the dealer expecting to get some use out of extended warranty. I had worries of everything from fuel contamination to just a glow plug module.

The fix ended up being the fuel injectors, which apparently had a service bulletin/recall/extended warranty from BMW for defect, which I wasn't aware of. They replaced 5 of the 6 injectors, and I never had a CEL or hiccup ever again.

It was strange that there was an issue with fueling because my fuel economy was never bad, acceleration was never bad, never any roughness... just that little annoying light. I would've never known otherwise. Other than that, it was truly one of the most reliable cars I've owned.

No real issues with my car so far, but what i do find annoying is the available space in the storage compartment between the front seats. Half is taken up by the unused, non-removable car kit, which means that usable space is minimal. The available compartments in the cabin are small for such a spacious car.
