When Did FnF Underglow Make a Comeback?
Call me old but seems like overnight (or past 2 years during pandemic), underglow LEDs made a come back? But it’s not even imports that are rocking them but believe it or not it’s Chargers and Camaros lol. I must’ve missed the memo…

I've seen a few instagram examples but still haven't seen underglow in real life since the early 00s.

Its gotten real popular in the truck scene too again. When I was living in Phoenix it was extremely popular and made a huge comeback with LED technology. No more 1" neon tubes to try to hide. It can get a little excessive though.

You'll usually see them at car meets and if you live in areas with a dense car scene. ....Or if you live in an area where a lot of those lame ass street takeovers happen. I havent seen it too much on the road, they're illegal so most people with them probably leave it off when normally commuting around

I don't know but they are terrible. They weren't cool in the 90s and they are still lame now.
I've also seen, only on the forums/IG, now people doing "starlight" headliners. They put a couple hundred twinkling LEDs in the headliner to resemble the night sky. |

Original underglows were neon. The come back is because of led's.

Does method of lighting matter? Seems tacky either way…
But your point is taken, it’s less cost prohibitive now making it more “popular”? Last edited by 3002 tii; 05-18-2022 at 10:36 AM.. |

I considered doing it under my F80 m3 hooked up to a pressure sensor so that I could turn it on at any point above a certain boost pressure.
I thought it'd be pretty funny to have chasing rainbow underglow under my car whenever I'm essentially WOT. Never did it though.

I was in Nashville last week and the amount of lifted trucks with under body & wheel well lights was ridiculous.. Almost as ridiculous as they look.

Yep. I live here, and it's obnoxious whenever I go downtown on Friday or Saturday nights. Fair amount of truck nuts, as well. It is beyond my comprehension how anyone thinks all of that looks good.
