New to this thread guys...just picked up a new 2021 Alpina XB7 and want to code the ambient lights to give a blue / green option (Alpina colors). When I go into the module for the lighting I don't have an easy menu to change the colors. Has this update been pushed to iOS at this point? Could it be that my Alpina requires a different update?

Any help very much appreciated!

Hi...you're on the wrong forum...you need to ask on the G07 X7 forum: https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/index.php

X7 coding ambient lights for G series should be no different than a G series X5, right (directionally) as well as the use of Bimmercode to do the same?

F15 ambient lighting - dark blue

Hi all

I saw on a thread somewhere the code for dark blue ambient lighting is 0xFF. However when I put this into bimmercode it gives me a bright red colour.
I have old software so have to go into 3070 - LCIMaster and do not have RGB options either. I’ve managed to input custom value 0x4F and get the light green however dark blue is just not working and keeps coming out as red.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Sounds like you are coding just one value
https://support.pstnet.com/hc/en-us/...listing-17814-

So when you code 0XFF you did
0xFF, 0x0, 0x0 and got RED color
if you want blue you need to do
0x0, 0x0, 0xFF

Check page 14 in this thread, all explained there.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't have the RGB options so I can only input one custom value. In this case I'm trying 0xFF

0XFF is the RGB in the HEX values. If you enter 0XFF (255) in the first channel (RED) and keep other channels at 0X0 (0) you will get the red color (RGB code 255 0 0)

I don't have 3 channels to enter into. Please see screenshots below.

Enter the custom color RGB value per layer ensemble. Please read this https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=284 and this post carefully https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=293 or entire pages 13-14 as I mentioned before.

This does not work for me as each layer ensemble is for a different strip of light. For example, layer 1 is for the strips along the top of the doors and front dash and layer 3 is for the footwell.
So if I do 0x00 for layer 1 and 2 and then 0xFF for layer 3 I get nothing along the top and under door panels but then bright red on the footwells. Hope this makes sense

Hey guys,

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who contributed here in making this wonderful thread that is filled with accurate and precise guided steps. You guys rock!

So I managed to customize three colors into my groups:

Red:
R: FF
G: 00
B: 00

Blue:
R: 00
G: 00
B: FF

Lilac:
R: 78
G: 3C
B: FE

But I keep noticing that the brightness hasn't changed at all and it is pretty much the same (unless I need new glasses)

Pictures below show the current status of my car, I haven't used long exposure not to mislead anyone about the actual brightness.

Please let me know if I'm missing anything.

Because you're in 3070

Select 3076 and report back

It will not affect brightness, just different color. You can adjust it in iDrive settings.

Three rotations would get you the combo you want. Or, further simplify and do as they have. I don't feel like I a missing out by not having a pink, turquoise, green and "Unknown" (see menu drop down in coding pic) lights. Then again, I might want the occasion to make it look like an old fashion pizzeria by having a bright green, white and red combo

Stil, great find. There is so much in the codes to be discovered.
IMHO. They should have set up scenes and allowed user to pick from 8-10 scenes (like a Hue bulb). That would be cool!

Sorry the pictures are not the best quality, more some of the worse .

Here is how I did it with one example changing the solid color orange to green (gruen).

BDC_Body -> CAFD_.... -> 3070 LciMaster, A5 -> Function -> GROUP_0_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1 -> weiss (was orange) -> AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_1 -> gruen (was orange) -> AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_2 -> gruen (was orange)

This really all you need to do. There are several LAYERS, if you open up the folder "Ausgelesen" you will find the color matching to your current setup (idrive screen -> settings -> lighting ...).

The section _GROUP_ separates the color schemes.
GROUP_#_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_# is the "dome" sector where you only have 2 color options; orange and white (weiss).
AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_#_LAYER_# is the "dashboard" color and below.

There are 8 LAYERS but not all of them are active (inakitv), I tried selecting them but could not notice any changes, just FYI.

Colors available:

Dome or _GROUP_ (Top Ceiling) White (weiss) or orange.
Rest of the _LAYER'S : Green (gruen), Pink, Purple (lila), violett, ivory_dynamic_blue (elfenbein_dynamisches_blau or eff_dyn_blau), light/bright blue (hellblau), yellow (gelb), ice blue (eisblau), turquoise (tuerkis) light/bright green (hellgruen), orange, light/bright red (hellrot) and white (weiss).

If you go down past the 8 Layers the next color group from idrive will start just like the one above starts with GROUP and so on. Remember that you will not see a change in the name on idrive, it will not be adding names either. In my case for the example the selection orange on idrive is my green, hope that makes sense. If not, let me know (PM).
Another FYI is that after coding the first time (color) the Interior ambient lighting will turn off and not back on until the car goes into "sleep"; this can be 30min after leaving and locking the car. It might even take longer if you leave a computer turned on inside the vehicle (no joke). Just like other parts when coded, the driver mirror will move when data is transferred. Hope I covered everything is not shoot me a PM and I'll do a edit.

EDIT: 12/16/2015

I shot some super horrible phone photos last night after coding all 9 Ambient Light settings , but it just to show the color anyway ...so I hope you all forgive me for not pulling out my good camera again

Either way, some comments to the pictures (additional). First of all I changed all stock blue (eisblau) to eff_dyn_blue, its an intense blue with a little more saturated touch. I changed all white's to green's since I don't like the look at all of the white light... and think green goes good with blue and orange/red (hey its my taste ). Not sure if you can see it but in the first picture I changed layer 2 (was orange) into hellrot (bright red) kinda goes under with the camera light intake but the "hellrot" is pretty much an intense version of orange. I changed the dome light from white to orange on all settings that have one or more layers set in orange. The last setting point is my wife's (Violett, Pink, Pink). Maybe this gives you all a little more "what's possible" even though I did not show all colors. Let me know if you all have any questions!

there are no colours in my F15 2017 except white, blue and orange, and your values are not in my bdc either
GROUP_0_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1 i have GROUP_0_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_R _G _B like said 3 version only orange, white or inaktive

for this one AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_1 the same AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_1_R _G _B and here orange, Blue and white

But got it coded added green and purple for now

Finally coded my ambient lighting - thanks to this thread!

I have yet to try it, but has anyone changed the custom values for "infinite" color combo as noted on this link https://support.pstnet.com/hc/en-us/...listing-17814-

I'm planning to try it out, but if someone has done so and it's a no go, then I'd appreciate knowing it so I don't go coding and

To me this red, dark blue and lighter blue for the ambient light is the best combo for an M Sport look.
