You've got no questions that need answering then. You seem level headed and a smart dude other than getting married, but that's a different argument.

Just work on your spending and literally set yourself budgets each month and STICK TO IT. You'll be amazed how much money you can save by sticking to a plan. Fill out a sheet on Xcel, that's what I use.

Granted I suck with spending, but I still monitor it.

haha if getting married is the worst thing I do in my life, I'll take it.

I have been working on a excel budget, but have been lacking the discipline to track it long term. Need to work on that.

Life has no guarantees so with that in mind there is no better time to be happy and live then now.
Do what you want to do while you can because tomorrow may never happen.
Love yourself but please don't be a douche about it.
Save for rainy days.
Surround yourself with people you like.

Put your health before your job. Money is nothing with out it. Everyone may want to see you do well, but never better than them.

So, so true. Even if you acquire fabulous wealth, it means nothing without good health.

I retired a year early because my body was beginning to break down under the load.

And one more: Put family and friends ahead of yourself (an invaluable lesson I learned from my mom).

I watched one of my friends wife try this and their marriage eventually failed. Even though she had far more than the rest of us in terms of possessions and money, she was never happy - always wanted more.

Sadly, her daughter was cut from the same cloth. Four failed marriages and numerous failed relationships and counting. Everyone of her husbands and boyfriends were filthy rich.

They never learn. Money does not buy anything close to happiness.

And a common denominator: neither one worked a day in their life.

Spoiled rotten brats (And I'm being charitable).

I've been a rich woman and I've been a poor woman and I choose rich every fucking time because when I have to face my problems I show up in the back of a limo wearing a $2,000.00 suit and a $40,000.00 gold fucking watch.
