You've got no questions that need answering then. You seem level headed and a smart dude other than getting married, but that's a different argument.

Just work on your spending and literally set yourself budgets each month and STICK TO IT. You'll be amazed how much money you can save by sticking to a plan. Fill out a sheet on Xcel, that's what I use.

haha if getting married is the worst thing I do in my life, I'll take it.

I have been working on a excel budget, but have been lacking the discipline to track it long term. Need to work on that.

So, so true. Even if you acquire fabulous wealth, it means nothing without good health.

I retired a year early because my body was beginning to break down under the load.

And one more: Put family and friends ahead of yourself (an invaluable lesson I learned from my mom).

I watched one of my friends wife try this and their marriage eventually failed. Even though she had far more than the rest of us in terms of possessions and money, she was never happy - always wanted more.

Sadly, her daughter was cut from the same cloth. Four failed marriages and numerous failed relationships and counting. Everyone of her husbands and boyfriends were filthy rich.

They never learn. Money does not buy anything close to happiness.

And a common denominator: neither one worked a day in their life.
