I know I’m on the wrong thread but maybe someone here knows if this mod is also a direct bolt for a ‘13 E70 50i since I have these sitting around. TIA

Turned my garage into a paint booth last night. I wanted to do something different with the decal since I had the chance and came up with this idea. Let me know your honest opinion. I'm still on the fence about it but I've already cleared over it so this is how I'm rolling at least for a while.

Better ceramic coat them! Keep them dust free! But they look cool. Nice work!

Has anyone done this upgrade and NOT coded for it? Or even if you did code, did you try them first without coding and how did they feel?

On my F30, I upgraded to the M Performance kit and even though they said coding was required, I never coded and everything was and still is fine with them.

I installed the X5M brakes last night and after bleeding twice, I still have hardly any stopping power. I know I'm supposed to have it coded but I'm looking for feedback from someone who has done this upgrade without coding.

Nevermind, just coded and its spongy has hell still. I'll have to bleed again this weekend.

How did you guys bleed your brakes after install? I'm using a Motive bleeder so I'm not sure why I'm having issues after two rounds.

Do you buy OEM brake fluid or aftermarket? How much is needed? I will find time to do mine in a week or two.

They're so spongy you can't even bed them. If you're going about 30mph and slam on the brakes, it'll take 4-5 seconds to stop.

I bought aftermarket. ATE for the first bleed and some random DOT4 for the bleed this morning. I used about 1.5 quarts each time.

Why would I need to bleed the ABS if that wasn't touched? From some quick research it looks like I won't be able to do that myself?

Guess I'll need to start researching that. Or I might just punt this project and take it in to an indy shop. I'm the ultimate DIYer and I'm pretty over this one.

Just bled the third time and still have the same issue. I took it out to try and give the pads a proper bedding to see if that would help and when I returned, I noticed that the rear rotors are stone cold so they aren't even engaging. Which is really bizarre because those calipers are almost identical to the original calipers.

yup sounds like air. This happend to me when i installed 6/4 brembos on my amg a few years back. Got too frustrated and just took to a shop and had them do it.

Not sure the shop did it. They were opening each line quickly while someone is pushing the brakes from inside to get the air out...

So they did yours using the pedal method? I might have to try that before I surrender to taking it in to a shop... did you watch them bleed the abs and master? What was that process like?
