Want to keep fogs on when using high beams. Can this be done via Bimmercode? TIA.
If you have the app...its easy to find out...just hook up your adapter and go to the module that controls your exterior lighting. As mentioned above, it depends on your model and model year where it will be found. Some BMW's exterior lighting is controlled by the FRM (footwell module), some use the FEM (front electronics module) and some use the BDC (body domain controller).

Again, if you have the app and adapter, just simply connect to the adapter and go to whichever of those modules you have...then scroll down to find it. On my 2013 F06, this codeable feature was found in the FEM...and didn't require going into EXPERT MODE...it was one of the easy selectable coding features.

The app asks if you want the fogs off with high beam...if the answer for you is yes...then you select ACTIVE. If you answer no (I don't want the fogs off with high beams)...meaning that you want the fogs to remain ON with the high beams...then you change the coding to NOT ACTIVE.

Just find the module that controls your WELCOME LIGHTS...and scroll through the codeable options (if you have Bimmercode). Scroll down to WELCOME LIGHTS LOWBEAM...then click on the arrow on the far right...this will allow you to change from "NOT ACTIVE" to either "SOFT ON" or "HARD ON". Once you've finished your selections for that module...then press the CODE button (again, if you're using Bimmercode).
I checked and found out that I do not have FEM or FRM modules. Just BDC_BODY. Under it, there is nothing that controls welcome lights. I also checked the Expert mode and nothing there either.

Depending on your car
Under BDC_BODY you should look for Mapping_..._Part_WL

Let me know if you find that. You can PM me your BDC_BODY ncd file and I will find it for you.

I looked under BDC-Body and no such parameter... I guess cannot be coded with Bimmercode.

You can't do it for a 2018 x5

The ncd files are in c:\data\caf\

So you will see all the ncd files there and it depends on the ecu module you will select the ncd file.

Oh well. Thanks anyways. 2018 does not let you do many things I guess. I really miss the welcome home and adaptive headlights from my '16 550. Both have the same BMW Adaptive LEDs but 550 was offering more features.

Not if you try it via VO coding, which BimmerCode doesn't support, but thus far is the only effective way I've heard of (personally confirmed).

BMW Coding Thread

Can I code Sport plus on a luxury line using bimmercode? I read in this thread you could do it with E-Sys but I don't have that program, I only have Bimmercode expert.

2014 X5 ambient lighting

I hope this belongs here.....

I recently deleted all profiles on iDrive and reset my preferences. I also made a few code changes to iDrive including video in motion. When I was finished I noticed the ambient lighting (orange/white/blue) and footwell lights werent on when the headlights were turned on and dark outside. They had been working fine until the coding changes and profile deletions. I did make sure they were set to be on with medium brightness in iDrive. Nothing in the coding I changed indicated anything about interior lighting or ambient lighting. Is it possible a fuse blown randomly that controls ambient and footwell lighting?

You were correct. Waited over night and now everything seems to be fine with the ambient and kick panel lights. Thank you.

Are you talking about the steering wheel retracting when you exit/enter the vehicle? If so, I did it on mine and can help you out (free of charge). I’m located in Brooklyn. PM me.

I do not use ISTA+, so I cannot advise on it. For E-Sys though:

3AC Trailer Coupling for the electrically foldable model. Add 3AC to FA and VO Code HU_NBT and AHM.

235 Towing hitch, detachable is the detachable model. Add 235 to FA and VO Code HU_NBT and AHM.

If not supported by FA (like Invisihitch), then use HO-Wort K235 Trailer Tow Hitch Removable instead.
