Techron Fuel System Cleaner on X5 50i

Will it help at all to clean fuel injector? In another word, will it potentially do any damage to my X5 50i?

I don't know up to what point they will "clean" the injectors, but definitely won't do any damage. Actually, Techron was (is?) a BMW recommended fuel additive.

The only thing that it will clean is the injector tips/nozzles, and some of the cylinder. Other than that the valves will be untouched which what techron was really made for cleaning valves. If you use Top-Tier fuel you shouldn't really need any fuel cleaner/additives, heck if you have a chevron station they already have this product in their 91 fuels.

use seafoam, pour half a can into ur gas tank to clean ur injectors, the other half find a vacuum hose in the engine bay n use engine vacuum to suck it into the manifold to clean ur valves.

Garage List
Premium fuel at gas stations (Chevron's Techron, Shell's Nitro+, etc.) have small amount of cleaning agent to clean the fuel system, which should be sufficient if you've been filling premium gas. Fuel system cleaners have the same additives in the bottle, but in a much higher/concentrated amount (like 10-30ppm in premium fuels vs 100+ ppm in fuel system cleaner). The quality of gasoline in the US today are very clean(I am talking about well known brands) so fuel system cleaner is not as useful as back in the days.

But if you really want to use extra fuel system cleaner in your car, please use "complete fuel system cleaner" as it has the highest concentration of cleaning additives in the bottle. In addition, avoid seafoam. Seaform would not harm your engine but it doesn't do anything at the same time. (Disclaimer: I am not starting an argument here about seafoam is bad or anything. I have testing results to prove it doesn't work in engine. And no, I can't share the data.)
