D2S replacement bulb

Hello All. I'm looking to replace my Stock bulbs on my 15' 50i w a pair of Osram bulbs. Was wondering if I should go with the CBH or CBB since there is a pretty big price diff and curious is the improvements in the CBB are worth the money. Also only place that I can really find them is on amazon for 149$ (Prime Auto Lamps) or through a website called for a significantly more expensive price of 250$ (The Retrofit Source). Any advice on the bulbs themselves and or the selling parties would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Actually, you need D1S bulbs. Both night breaker or extrem vision will give you more light output than CBH and CBB, these two give more white color.

Here is a very good site to research and buy, they have a 20% off right now:

Remember, the higher you go in kelvin the less lumens you get even though going from 4300k OEM to 5000k or 6000k (too blue for my tastes) looks whiter or brighter.

I purchased a set of CBB from the hidconcept website it's the d1s bulbs for the f15. Installation took less than 5 mins. I would say the factory color is about 4300k the cbb is about 5500k but it's definitely brighter than the stock bulbs. There's a nice video on YouTube that does the comparison on the CBB bulbs vs the competition.

So far so good I just wish it would give a 7000k but the packaging says up to 7000k whatever that means but brightness wise it's definitely worth it

7000k is almost purple and very poor light output. Unless you own a Civic and are going for the Rice look you do not want 7000k. 5000k will give you the best light output and be nice and white. 6000k will start to give a slight blue hue and IMHO, very "Pep Boys, Walmart, Auto Zone" looking.

5000k outputs more light than 7000k regardless how it looks to the naked eye. That's why most OEM is around 4300k, best light output vs. close to white temperature.

First of all 7000k is no where close to purple.. second of all it's personal preference. 7000k is a white with a blue tint

OK maybe not purple but shows a good amount of blue. I've been dealing with light temperature, lumen and CRI (color rendering index) for quite some time in the BIAS lighting arena. Each manufacturer is different too, I have seen some 8000k lights that are bordering between blue and the purple hue, I have seen some 5000k that look very warm. Yes, it is up to individual taste but it is science that a 7000k bulb puts out less usable light than a 5000k bulb. IMHO if you want a nice white and best usable light, I always look for a 5000k bulb.

I assume it's easy to get at? On our Infiniti G37 you had to take the wheel off, the under fender skirting and contort you arm/hand to just reach it, let alone doing it blind as you could not see what you were doing and operated pretty much by feel.

I have changed the bulbs on my E53 before, it was pretty simple.
But I actually haven't seen a video online for the F15. I also haven't looked at the headlight unit, so I don't really know what it looks like, could be easy or not.. I did just assume since it's a couple generations later, things may be different or more difficult, that's all

Oh ya I know what you mean. My Wife's Honda Accord needs the battery remover to reach the driver side.

On the X5 is pretty visible. The main dust cap is right there. Just pop the hood and take a look. It's not that daunting as some small cars.

Correct the remove the dust cap, pull the harness down and twist the bulb to get it released. No clips no brackets holding the bulb.

Yep, easy as that half naked chick at the gym Changed mine to 6000K within the 1st month of ownership. I actually couldn't imagine BMW making it any easier.

Install is easy, but do they really improve visibility and looks? OSRAM kit claims 200% improved visibility - I'm skeptical https://www.hidconcept.com/products/...ulbs-pack-of-2

Also, is that 200% from OEM or some weakling HIDs lol?
