F15 X5 optional tire size 255/55/19

Hi everyone
Looking for some advice for my 2015 X5 x35i
Stock tire size is 255/50/19 but wondering if I can safely do 255/55/19 instead?

That is not an optional Tyre size for F15/16.

In the front, you need to measure the overall diameter and make sure you aren't going to hit the upper control arm.

In the back I don't see why it would not work.

Run your original wheel & tire combo against the new wheel & tire combo (for each axle) using the calculator at the following site...it will show as well as give you the difference between the two different sizes for each axle: www.willtheyfit.com

thanks for the tips. The website says there is only a 3% margin of error but i guess it technically doesn't say whether it can work or not. I will just have to measure and see. I got some free winter tires from a friend so its worth exploring.

You might also check https://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp. It's still just an estimate. Your actual results may very.

New transfer case might cost you way more.

255/55/19 should fit. The guy I bought my 20s from was running a Falken Wildpeak AT in that size on his. It'll clear the control arms from what I know.

Tire Size 255/55R19

I have the regular 255/50R19 tires on my X5 and I would like to put on some snow tires for an upcoming trip. I will use the tires only for few months and I dont want to buy the latest tires.
TireRack has the 255/55R19 on sale. Its an inch bigger on diameter, which translates to half an inch of clearance needed.

Does anyone know if the 2015 X5 can handle the extra tire diameter?

I plan on replacing all four to keep the travel the same and i dont mind the speedometer inaccuracy.

Thanks for any advise.

as far as I'm aware you shouldn't have any issues with clearance on a 255/55/19 tire.
