New (to me) X5M Purchase & Initial Impressions
I'll start with I am so excited to be here!!
I found this on the BMW CPO site. I called BMW of SF and the first rep told me it sold. I hung up and called right back and bought it, sight unseen. It is Donington Grey on Mugello. I had a TIAG/ Imola E46 M3 so it is good to see something similar in the garage again. Before I bought it, I had an E70 5.0i and LOVED it. I sat in a F15 5.0i and loved it, then I made the mistake of sitting in the F85. Never looked back. If you're in the market, don't sit in the M. At about a 20K difference in price on the used market, the M is a bargain! I drove a F10 M5, but didn't like all the power and RWD. I love this truck! The Navi display is amazing, acceleration and grip are incredible. Love the interior lighting. I only put about 150 miles on it. I am anxious to see what they'll do with new X5M! |

I was born and raised in the bay area, but I don't live there anymore.
Specs? Haha, I thought they were all the same! CF trim, LED headlights, soft close doors, HK (no B&O), heads up display, 4 zone climate control, lane change, surround camera, roadsign detection and comfort access. Awesome M3, I think I found some of your pics online and saved them before mine was delivered! Very nice pics! Great taste! I wanted to go with LBB/Mugello, but I figured that might be hard for resale, I love the truck, but I usually don't hold cars for long, we'll see... I want the chrome air vent and grille to be black. I also want some more power, the dinan option seems cheap, I think I saw it under 3K and HP close to 700HP! |

Over 46k miles later and keeping it until the next generation is released. I just bought an extended warranty as piece of mind ... It is an ///M so if anything does go wrong mechanically it will be expensive. But nothing major though to date to report ... I have yet (knock on wood) have had to top off my oil between oil services. |

welcome to owning what I have found to be my favorite "car" of all time...and I do not say that lightly. The X5M is without doubt the finest all around, daily driver you could have purchased. Perfect? Squealing brakes, interior squeaks-no it isn't. But damn close, and in all the categories that matter (accel, handling, braking) this thing is amazing. Enjoy.
