I'm using H&R springs and rides great. Looking forward to trying out the VTF one day...but can't justify purchasing them as the ride on the 1.2" springs is great.

H&R lowering springs

By the way it's in my E70 X5M, and from my research the F85 has the same weight distribution and weight as the E70 and the springs are cross compatible. One of the member is installing the VTF on his E70 X5M as we speak. I have a full thread of my install....

She looks great 👍🏽 I'm debating whether to go with HR VTF as well or dedicated CO. I wish I knew someone in my area with the VTF. I'm afraid the rears may be too bumpy.

Well if you don't want to risk bounciness I would go KW V3. VTF should be fine but won't be able to go too low without bounce occurring in the rear. That is because of the way the airbags are. Mine is set to the lowest setting without bounce at 64-63mm at the back with the links.

If you are going to drop the car to the lowest possible and want to keep a good ride quality, KW V3 is the way to go.

I have both VTF and KW V3 in stock.
I have installed all of the variant, the winner is still KW V3 for max setup.
VTF is when you are on a budget and willing to suck up the bounciness if you go too low.

Thanks guys. Is there an ideal height with VTH where it's not bouncy?

anyone on here install the dinan springs? they appear to be a conservative reduction in height and have decent bump stops but not sure what the spring rates are or spoken with anyone who has installed the set.

It is hard to say.
I have lowered down to 1.5" to couple of local customers and they have no complain.

I did a 300 mile road trip yesterday, a drive I have done many times.

On a certain stretch of the highway (about 20 miles), my old 330xi with H&R plus yellow Koni, would be totally uncomfortable in the right lane, due to the road surface.
At the speedlimit...., about every 1-2 seconds there is a small ridge going across the road, that can give a car with soft suspension, quite a bouncing motion. A car with stiff springs, would feel the impact over and over again and have some bounce..
Thunk thunk---thunk thunk---

My current set up with stock shocks and VTF, didn't have anywhere close to the issues my 330 had. It is still smoother in the left lane, but I heard no complaints from the passenger seat this time while in the right lane (and she's pretty good at voicing her opinion...LOL)

So these are the VTF? Do you know if this was the lowest setting? This would be perfect, i would just raise the rear a little bit.

This is mine on VTF. 30" ground to fender front, 30.5" ground to fender rear. I wanted ever so slight front rake. This is about 1.5" drop front and .75" rear based on my stock measurements.

Thanks! The best part and the worst part (if you're OCD like most of us) is that you can always adjust it
