469M Summer & 451 Winter

I have a 2018 X5 Xdrive35i with the M sport appearance package running the 20" 469M wheels with the runflats. I'm thinking about purchasing some 20" 451 takeoffs, staggered, with the Conti DWS06 tires for this winter. The 451's should swap out without any issues, correct?

I think they do with no issues.

My concern was that with the M Sport Appearance package that the offset on the 451's might be different than with the 469M wheels.

You could also buy a set of take off winter wheels and tires from ebay for around $1600. I'm not sure what you are paying for the tires though. I personally prefer to swap wheels all together and bought a new set last year around that price range, mind you they were 19's but also brand new with stickers...

Thats what I want to do. I want to find a set of 20" (I like the looks of the 451's) and put Conti DWS06 All Season tires on them. I have a lift at work and I can store the Summer 469M wheels and tires there also. It would be much easier to put on a complete set of the 451's with All Season for the winter. Once spring rolls around I can easily swap them back to the 469M's with the runflats.

Why would you go through the effort of buying different wheels and tires for the winter just to run "all seasons." DSW already run butter than oem RFT so why not just put them on your 469 and keep the RFT for resale. Just seems silly as I'm assuming you don't live in an area where is snows really. And with that said I ran my RFT all winter through two snows and they did just fine. Now before the snow boys have a coronary and it is NOT recommended to run them in snow I'm just saying it CAN be done and the AWD system handled it all fine here in VA with our two blizzard weekends.

Where do you live?

I live in Missouri, but we also drive out to Colorado once or twice a year to ski. I can get 451 takeoffs with center caps and HUF TPMS sensors installed for around $1800.

Ah. Y'all don't get enough snow in Missouri to need snow tires? If not I would still stick dsw on 469 and snow on 451 for driving to Colorado to ski!!!! Not just all seasons.

I feel that for the price the 451's are hard to pass up. I just wanted to make sure that they will fit similar to the 469's. I want to make sure the offset is the same or close so that they look right with the M Sport Appearance Pkg.

Offsets are exactly the same. I run 451 with DWS06 in winter and they are great.

That's good to know that they are the same and that you get around well with DWS06's in the winter.

If you are getting a second set of rims, put snows on them instead of all seasons. And consider a square set-up instead of staggered for winter driving as wider is not better in the snow. Otherwise I agree with Maverik259 and just put all seasons on your 469s. Is a second set of rims with just all seasons worth it for a twice yearly drive to CO?

Narrower tires and square set-up are better in new/unplowed/deep snow.

I run 19" Hakkas on 467 wheels as I need proper snow tires in the winter.

I bought a set of used 19" X5 rims for $700 and put Blizzaks on them. In all kinds of snow and ice they are fairly incredible. I can drive thru anything. I just spent a week in Mammoth with a few feet of snow over a few days and I was driving all over the place with zero worries.

I lucked out last year, found a set of 449s with Blizzaks & TPMS on them. The guy sold his wife's X5 and had this set sitting in his garage. Got them for $1k.
