Never Before Seen X5M seats or scam?

I have a 2016 X5M and have only know these vehicles to come with one style of seat. A buddy of mine ran across a 2016 X5M being sold in Chicago by a dealer with seats that I have never seen before. I contacted the dealer out of curiosity and was told they are the seats that came with the vehicle from the factory. I am skeptical. Anyone know if these were ever original X5M seats and if not why would anyone change to these seats, they don't seem nearly as nice?

Looks like a Canadian version M with no Executive Package. But it comes with LED lights as standard equipment.

well the vin appears to be a real x5m. is it possible the previous owner found the ///M seats to harsh and opted for non ///M seats? i'm not sure if those are msport seats or standard x5 seats redone.

i know in the porsche world, guys would cup seats would trade for comfort seats

They're still M seats. You can see the stamping if you zoom in. Probably a lot more comfortable lol.

Indeed, I see now you can build with those seats on the Canadian BMW website. I had no idea this was even an option.

I just traded in my Canadian X6 M. It had the same seats as American X6M.

They don't appear to be ventilate which probably makes them more comfortable.

This is definitely an option I've seen an x6m for sale at my local dealer here in toronto. Don't know why you would option it that way even if its cheaper but it makes the car look meh. The car sat in the showroom for a year and half until they moved it to the used section even though it was still new since it couldn't sell. Terrible choice imo and the seats felt the same. not much of a difference.
