When to tune?

Hey guys, just wanted to see how soon everyone did their Dme flash/ tuning? What mileage? I’m about To take in my Car in for the break in service 1200 miles! I’m thinking of going with DME tuning or bootmod3, with catless down pipes.

After the run-in service is completed.
If you're installing at a BMW dealership they will not install anything before that.

Will a BMW dealership install a aftermarket flash tune for you? I would think they would frown on that and want to void your warranty, but have heard of some dealers that don’t care about mods.

Thanks for the replies! No I will not have the dealer do the time, because it will void the warranty. I will go with one that will be able to be removed if I need to bring vehicle into the dealer for service.

I've had dealerships install aftermarket parts and tunes in the past and it helps when issues arise since they are the ones that installed the parts however if it is a tune that needs a bench flash or similar the dealership cannot do it since they do not have it on hand.

If the dealer installs it then the dealer can remove it and diagnose from there without automatically blaming another shop or the tune. YMMV.
